Interesting Readup on car nomenclature, especially ACURA

Really good reading, I knew some of the information but the information about Saab was pretty cool, as well as about Acura.

hmm i always thought the 3.2 CL-S meant at least something.

Supposedly CL means Contemporary Luxury, and S stands for Speed. This was highlighted in an Acura magazine Expressions some years ago.

Acura's two- and three-letter combinations mean absolutely nothing. They're just completely made-up combinations of letters. 

One exception that rule -- or lack of one -- predates Acura's overall move to letters. When the Acura NSX sports car was in development in the 1980s that name stood for New Sports Experimental.
