Infiniti Certified Pre-owned warranty question

For those who are familiar with Infiniti's warranty, I have a couple of questions. I am negotiating on a 2013 CPO JX35 for my wife and it seems that infiniti's CPO warranty is very different from Acura's CPO warranty. I've been told by the salesman that infiniti's CPO covers ONLY powertrain/engine/transmission items for the extended period. And if I want everything covered, I need to purchase another warranty that the salesman are calling a "wrap warranty". The wrap warranty, I'm told, covers the rest of the cars electrical systems; nav, audio, etc...

Can anyone help me out and confirm or deny this? I'd like to have an all-inclusive warranty for the car for the next 2-4 years, but I don't want to pay too much $$. They've certified the car, and say the wrap warranty is an additional $1,900. I'm working on negotiating the wrap warranty ($1,900) and the installation of the hitch (worth $800) for the price of around $1,800. Does this information about the wrap warranty sound legit??

Thank you for your help!!

6 years or 100,000 miles limited warranty. (from NEW car purchase date)
Honda's is 7 years 100k miles limited warranty, it only covers powertrain too, not bumper to bumper either. Unless you are buying a CPO that is still under new car warranty (whether it is 3 years 36k miles or 4 years 50k miles)
What is NOT covered is indicated there.

Pretty self-explanatory. Whether you think it is fair or too different from Honda's is not relevant because it is what it is and there is not much you or the dealer can do about it since they are getting paid from Infiniti and if Infiniti does not cover it, then the dealer will not unless you want to pay for you.

Thank you for the reply. Do you have any knowledge about the "wrap" warranty? or maybe it's called the Elite Extended warranty" on infiniti's website. Is that essentially the old bumper to bumper warranty that would cover most everything else?

Everything is covered except: paint, exhaust, carpet, glass, upholstery, trim, weatherstripping, battery, clutch, tires, rotors, squeaks, water leaks, wind noise, normal maintenance.
Other than wear and tear items, everything else is covered. Also $1900 seems a little high, you can negotiate down a bit to something like $1600.

Remember, this kind of plan ONLY makes sense if you are planning to keep the car for a long time, otherwise it is just waste of $$.

Don't listen to the sales BS about coverage because usually sales people know little to nothing about warranty. Make sure you get the booklet about the plan and read it before you buy.

Yeah, I thought it was too high also. I then asked them to combine it with their $800 quote for the factory hitch installed. Total retail of $2,700 for both...but I asked for both for a total price of $1,600.

They called back today and said yes. I was surprised!!

We do plan on keeping the car for at least 4-5 years, so it's worth it to me to have it covered for most of that time.

The CPO warranty is mostly powertrain for the 6/100k, with some other components covered as well. As your sales guy said, the Wrap is pretty much extending the bumper to bumper protection. Since it's so comprehensive I had my mom get it on her EX35 when she got it last fall. You can ask your sales guy or finance manager for a brochure comparing the standard CPO warranty to the wrap since they should have them laying around somewhere and it goes over everything that each one covers.

Thanks to all who replied. I had a Q & A with the salesman yesterday over the phone about the wrap warranty specifics and it does jive with the answers provided. I've just been accustomed to Acura's CPO warranty for the last three cars I've owned, so when it wasn't similar, I wanted to hear it from someone other than the salesman.

I will ask for the brochure tomorrow when we go to sign the papers and pickup the car, as the PDF link to the extended warranty is not working on Infiniti's website. Hopefully that's not a sign of things to come.

BTW, the Infiniti is awesome, based on my test drives. It's a '13 CPO JX35, pretty well loaded with a couple features not offered in the Acura MDX....heated steering wheel comes to mind. It's for my wife to drive, but I'm pretty excited about it too.

Understood!! The combined mpg rating is 20 for the JX. If we get that, I'll be thrilled. That's still a lot better than the 15 she gets in her Chevy trailblazer.
