awesome. there are guys on my Z site that track ALL the time. I don't know how they afford it. Great action shot... did you tape up your front a bit or not? Get hit with debris?

well this is a brand new track so it was pretty clean. Audi club chicago was the first club to use it

One person went off which kicked up some dirt but it wasnt much and was cleaned right away.

Plus my front end is beat already with chips.

I am planning on attending the one in October. Do I need to be an Audi Club member? I was there yesterday on the members track, I should have looked for your car. Did you see the F40 and Continental Ferrari Modena Challenge Cup car? Lots of rich bastards at that place.

Was the South track wet too? I was riding in my friends Cobra with slicks and he was complaining about the standing water on the track. He was battling with the F40 for the whole session. The F40 started in front of us and we passed him. He stayed pretty even with us afterwards.

Im pretty sure you will need to be an audi club member, you can sign up on their national site. This event filled up QUICK, im sure the one in October will be filled even faster.

You guys were on the South track, we were on the North. The north was a little wet in the morning but dried up after awhile. But there were some puddles but not really in the way of the line.

I saw the F40 and heard about the modena but didnt see it. I saw one red cobra cooling off but thats it.

You realize 99% of the Ferrari guys never run their cars hard, right. The F40 guys were almost surely not driving their cars hard. Last time I saw an F40 at a track, I swear he never took it past 4k rpm. If I was in the same shoes, I'm not sure I would, either. The chance of having something break on an almost 20-year old Ferrari F40? Yeah... it's not worth it, unless you're like Bill Gates or something.

you never get days off? we should go to Gingerman sometime. I will most surely be going there at least a couple times this year - if not to run, to at least watch some friends run. I will let you know.

They were running hard, trust me. The F40 was running Pilot Sport street tires and probably street pads. My friends Cobra has a custom race suspension, PF 01 Race pads, and Avon Slicks. The slicks alone are worth 4-5 seconds per lap.

its about 2 hours. we normally leave the day before and stay out there, but sometimes also leave in the morning. I guess that is one big advantage of Autobahn, it's damn close. I need to get out there.
