I'm PISSED off at just tires, need advise!

Guys on sunday, I noticed that my moms accord had its left front tire flat. I immediately put some air in it and went to my local just tires to get it repaired. They worked on it, and said that the rim had a hole, due to rust, and that they filed it down, and sealed it. The manager told me that the boy working on it was new, and that it was his first day. As I drove it home and took a turn, I noticed that the car wabbled a bit on right turns. I dismissed it, and went on as usual. Today, my mom calls me at work, and The tire exploded, and she ended up riding on the rim. It also cost her $65(rip off I know) for roadside assistance. Just tires charged me $27 for an improper mount which lead to a tire explosion. There is minimal damage to the rim, so tomorrow morning, I am going there to demand a new tire free of charge! What do you guys think?

There is nothing anyone can do to make a tire explode, short of filling it with explosives or a highly flammable gas. What happened is the tire was not repaired properly and went flat, your mother drove on it while it was low causing the sidewall to weaken and eventually "blow out." They aren't going to do anything to help, except maybe offer you a discount on a new tire. No one was injured so no lawyer is going to talk to you for free, one hours time from an attorney will cost more then fixing this problem and they know this. Since the tire was mostly destroyed from being rode on flat(which is virtually the only thing that will cause a tire to blow out) there is no evidence to support foul play. While I'm sorry it happened, I spent far to long in the tire business to know the games places play with people, its crappy, but there really is nothing cost effective you can do in most states. Contacting your DMV office and filing a complaint would be your best bet, but you MUST save the tire and be prepared to lose a few days of your life dealing with DMV, again not worth the trouble for a simple tire.
