I do and I did, I actually noted that it grates on me too in the other thread. Earlier this afternoon I was wondering if you would make a comment about it when this thread started having used and $150K cars. Its all good anyway. But I was curious what people would get and like I said before I cut it off at 40K specifically so not ever post was C6.

I have no issues buying American, personally.
The newer ones are much more reliable than the older models. The transmissions in the 4T40/4T45E/4T60/4T80 family is rock solid, and can endure an amazing of stress and negligance and still perform well and not have problems. (i.e. 170K on the original fluid under severe service with DexII)
I wouldn't hesistate to buy a GM vehicle solely because of their good transmission reliability.
The new Impala with the 3.5 or 3.9L 6-cyl interests me.

I don't have the statistics to back it up but my take on the majority of American cars now are at least as reliable as Japanese cars from 9-10 years ago (Lexus excluded) and people still think nothing about buying a 96 Accord. Considering most people will not keep a new car over 100K the relaibility issues is getting to the point that it is moot. The big key now is visual appeal and resell, both of which America lags behind.

Chrysler 300
refreshed Ford Exploder (arguably has one of the most accomodating 3rd row seat in the midsize SUV class, an adult can actually sit back there)
Pontiac Solstice
Buick Lucerne (this thing is ginormous in real life)

As to the last poster, do you know where I can get any of those for 40K, particularly the GT, for the latter I have my check book waiting!

Hopefully he meant Ford Mustang GT, as I've seen people make that mistake dozens of times already... I really wish Ford hadn't sold the rights to the "GT40" name, as it would make things easier...
But since he blue the budget by 10K plus on the first 2 choices, who knows ??

Did they sell or just fail to protect GT40?
