Probably so the headlights wont get broken by flying rock or other object. Or maybe it looks really cool when the headlights are turned on?

t0ast -- Expo 4 was planned on the west coast, but it didn't work out. Not enough people signed up, so it was moved to the east coast. But it doesn't matter where it's going to be next year -- I'll be there again for sure. I had way too much fun there.

Painter's tape. Tires kick up debris, and they will shatter your headlights if you don't tape them.

The RX7 doesn't have any tape, because they are made out of lexan, the same material they use on NASCAR windshields.

Most tracks require you to remove lights and lenses, or at least tape them up. It's more so that if the shit breaks, it doesn't end up on the track (getting a flat or blow out at 100 plus mph isn't fun).
