Because I'm certifiably insane, I pay $90 a month to park in a parking garage ten blocks from work because I don't trust anyone in this area enough to leave my car on the street all day. It does have its perks though because now my car is garaged at home and at work plus I get there early enough that there is "my space". It's an end spot protected by a concrete pillar so no door dings. Plus there's a meth lady in a white Focus that hangs out in there and keeps an eye on my shit.

My girlfriend is up to 36k on hers

It rides like a dream though! One of her TPMS sensors had to be replaced but the dealership did that under warranty.

It really is amazing how some parking lots have spaces big enough for two cars while others don't have spots big enough for one car.

Out here in duh countree, there are tons of huge spots. The closer I get "to town", the smaller the spots become.

This is fitting. Some dude at my work for some reason felt the need today to park about 12 fucking inches from the passenger side of my "car" (the Smart car), I got home and looked real closely at the area where his old ass K-5 Blazer door would have dinged the side of mine, and sure as shit there was a rub mark on the side of my passenger door.

C'mon man, just c'mon.

I do this almost every time someone parks next to me. Makes you wonder how many people think ahead to "How am I going to get out if I park here" when picking spots.

Only on AZ!!!

On another note, there's an unspoken rule at my work that when you park in the last row of the parking lot that you do every other spot. Lately we have some newcomers that are fucking that nice tradition up. They either park right next to you or skip two spots. Fortunately it hasn't lead to any dings / dents yet but it has made my walk a bit farther on certain days. C'mon man!

Where I live it doesn't seem to matter where I park. If I'm on the dark side of the moon there will be a minivan parked right next to me, 12 inches away, with a brood of little fat kids that exit by throwing their door open and piling out.

If I could place bets on a car parked right next to me in the boondocks when I come out of a store, I'd be rich.

This was sometime in 12/2011 at the public garage by my office. Only been able to get it 2 times since then. The garage manager has it occupied 99% of the time, always see the same cars in them.

I can still poke holes in a lot of these spots. For example, the above is located next to a trash can and stairs so you could have people chucking shit torwards your car. I dislike having lots of pedestrian traffic pass by my vehicle as well (how I got keyed in a garage one time)

Mine (at the top of this page) is way at the back and the only people who go back there are the people who park there on a regular basis. So far, so good but I do check for key marks every day because I realize it is possible.

Luckily those stairs are exit only all the way at the back of the lot , main entrance is on the opposite side with elevators and pay station. These stairs get so much use that besides security guards, the only 2 times I've bumped into anyone else was a guy getting a BJ and then a young HS couple 'hanging around'. I see your point though. My other spot at this garage is on the roof level same far end corner. In the summer the shade of the adjacent building keeps the car cool and no one parks near by since it's so far from the pay station. Gotta love lazy NY'ers for that

at guy pulling up pants and chick standing up with shameful face. Now I clear my throat and jiggle the work keys on my way down. Just in case...
