hate links..

here everyone.

We don't want much in this world, but a tract of land with 400 acres or so in its borders wouldn't hurt our feelings. Aside from giving us a comfortable buffer between ourselves and any irritating neighbors, a slice of earth that large would allow for one very entertaining driveway – a driveway like the one in the video after the jump. We can't attest to just how much property is attached to the sprawling manse in the clip or whether or not the pilot of the Porsche 911 Turbo can actually lay claim to the kingdom, but we do know the guy has a blast getting around the estate.

The short clip covers a quick loop around the house's exquisite concrete driveway, complete with a small jump, plenty of elevation changes and at least one hairpin. Sounds like a mighty fine way to make the drive to work a little more appetizing each morning. Hit the jump to check it out for yourself.

i'd love to have this as a driveway. You can have go-karts too, so when friends come over its now a go-kart race track!

i would drive any M/T car if it was slower than its auto counterpart...

an auto gearbox takes away the thrill of "driving" a car.

this is why many sporty trims of cars come in M/T only...

I hear ya, same way the DSG is faster than MT.

If I could afford a Porsche, it wouldn't be a PDK.

Even the old Tiptronic II was faster than the manual.

I used to say the same thing until I had a good amount of seat time in several automatic and manual 911 turbos (as well as every other type of Porsche in both auto and stick trims).

Honestly, the car is more fun as an auto. At 480+ hp, you aren't extracting more power or performance with the stick, this is a far cry from an automatic vs a manual Civic.

If you want to take off fast in a manual 911 turbo, you will spend most of you time staring at a tach and trying to pull of a perfect shift than you will simply enjoying the sheer audacity of the cars acceleration in with the Tip or PDK box.

You don't need to row your own gears to enjoy this car.

Anything less than a 911 turbo and I'm back to the manual

I think that's in my town lol. I was just there on Sunday. If it is in Cleveland it's Alan Jones' son. The area is gated off completely. Its quite beautiful there. Funny, I just saw the kid driving one of his silver 911 porshe Sunday. He also has an bmw mp3 running ethanal. This 911 is just one of MANY. I couldn't view the video but that map looks familiar.

omg, thats only half of it! they have bridges built into the track that crossover the estate's pond. the house is insane too.

I think you're right. A couple comments on Autoblog said the same thing that he was Alan Jones' son. It says the video was by John Bailey Jones.

its not about the speed though, you can always make a car go faster, in any trim.

there is just more interaction, more of a relationship with the car when you control the transmission. and when you have control over as much as possible in your vehicle.. you are really "driving it"

im sure driving a hennessey viper is awesome, even with an auto transmission... but something would still be missing to me... i want to FEEL myself putting the car into gear, not wait for it.

its not for everyone... but coming from my first 2 automatic cars to now my second manual... i totally get it...

If you buy a 911 turbo believe me (I used to work for them), it's either about speed or stuffing your jock. If it wasn't about speed and it was interaction with the car you were looking for you would have gotten a C2S.
