I got $2K for my beater, now I have an opportunity pick up a 1996 black Accord 2 door with leather and a moonroof. It has 100K miles, and she just had it tuned up and the timing chain replaced. She said she was thinking around $4k, which according to KBB is low. What are your opinions...afterall, this is a Honda/Acura site!

She has to get rid of it this weekend...I'm gonna see if she will take like $3800 cash....I'll easily pay the $4K, but it doesn't have a CD player, so I could see what I can do!

I pick it up tomorrow. It has 3 little dings....no rust...and there is one tear in the leather. Other then that, it is MINT! I got it for $4000....the next thing to do is get a CD player and remote start. It should last another 100K miles!

good deal... usually they are up around 5-6K... the new timing belt makes it an even better deal.
My cousin bought a 97 w/ 80K miles (4cly, 5spd) for about 6500 a year ago.

Its an automatic. I wouldn't want to drive stick every day. I think it gets almost 30 mpgs too...I'm picking it up today at 5:00pm....I'm taking it right to my house for a 2-3 hour detail!

PASS, I'd say find a used toyota/lexus.
I have seen used ES300's (1998 and earlier) go for $5-7k.
Although if you can't find a better deal on something else go for it.

You cant go wrong with that car. I got a 94 EX coupe with 5 spd when I was 16, got it with 8 miles on her and 8 years later got rid of her with 140,000 on it. Was a solid car. Great gas mileage and was dependible as anything. Im sure when she got it, back in 96 the CD player was still an option, as it was on mine. Im suprised it doest have the rust that every accord seems to have on the rear wheel wells, I took great care of mine and still it started getting rust there. Great car!
