I need y'alls opinion . . .
. . . on a car that would be exotic in the fact that it is rare and hardly seen and not too ravishly expensive. Please, no Ferrari's or Lamborghini's. Performance is not too big a criteria, but it can't take 5 min to get to 60. Comfort is a big criteria. Having some kind of removable roof is also a major plus, be it a convertible or targa.
So far, the only car that I can think of would be a Plymouth (or Chrysler) Prowler.
Please discuss . . .

But if that kind of car appeals to you, maybe this:

or one of these:

Where is my super sauce?
An exotic that is comfortable?
An exotic that is easy to maintain?
That's almost an oxymoron.
Sounds like you want an NSX. That's the first thing to pop in my mind that is easy to maintain and possibly fufills your other criteria.

Viper and an Elise...
You need a Porsche 993 (1995-1998), the last of the aircooled 911's...
edit: 50 large ?? Get a 993 S (C2S or C4S - aka turbolook).

There are a number of rotting Italian (Fiat, Alfa), and English (MG, Sunbeam, Triumph) roadsters out there that I'm sure could be had for cheap and then built up --- but I don't think they'd be entirely comfortable or easy to maintain.
My dad & uncle had land yacht Cadillacs in the 1970s. They were quite comfortable (owing to their land yacht size), and reasonably reliable. They had large V8s and I'm sure parts could be had without difficulty. They'll never handle like the Elise though...

Actually, that is half true. I did a couple of those drug study things on my time off. I also work for a family business that has done quite well. The elise on order and this new car are part of my business venture that I am looking into-renting semi-exotic cars.
