I made my decision. Selling both cars for one car i want! Need your opinions

Ok I have made my decision. I just want one car now so i dont have to pay insurance on two cars and registration on 2 cars. I am selling my 97 integra which I have the pink slip to but my problem is selling my 350z. I owe more than what its worth. I think I owe like $14k left and on kbb its only worth like $12,650. I want to sell both cars and buy a g35 i saw on craigslist which is worth like $14,000. What would be the best way to do this? I know I could sell the integra for $4,000 at least but my problem is the Z. I plan to put it on craigslist and sell it for 12,500 then use some extra money to pay it off then transfer it to the buyer. Then borrow another loan to buy the 14k g35. Problem is I will have to pay for tax/registration fee again correct?

The only way you can save on taxes is if a dealer is involved and took your trade in and sold you a car.

Exactly. A dealer can at least give you similar value. So hit up an Infiniti dealer and see if they will work with you. And if it costs a bit more, at least the car will be a certified used, no surprises.

...and if there's negative equity (which there is), they can roll that excess equity into the car you're financing. I'd do it for you, but i'm all the way in NY... (I'm a dealer)

like some said before go into the infinti dealer "play hardball" say "look i gotta have payoff to make this deal work." with car sales "slow." and your only 1500 bucks apart if you get a dealer who's looking to unload a G for a Z he'll do it. now if you were like 5 grand i'd say your probably gonna have to eat some of the loss. now in reguards to tax and registaration. i don't know how your state works but in the state of Ohio you pay tax on the difference lets say you traded in the Z and got loan pay off plus had to kick in 14 or 15 grand you pay sales tax (of 7%) on that 14 or 15 grand. (my mom did that when she traded her 05 Odyseey on an 08 Odyseey). now also another tip to save a few bucks (if it's legal in your state) save your plates off one of your old cars. in the State Ohio you can "transfer plates." meaning take it off a car you sold as long as you re-registar it they don't care. cause i did it with a semi trailer i have. i sold the old trailer(took plates off it) new trailer came in brought in old plates to the BMW they ran it under the old plates and said i was good to go. save me like 20 bucks.
