As him to pop the hood. Easiest way to tell. The Hellcat also has different wheels, but they are an option on the Scats. As mentioned the hood is the most obvious outside difference. I believe the spoiler is different too but not drastically.

Thanks for that info. Walked over there in the evening. It has the big one scoop,a nd the two side hood vents. From afar, those two side hood vents, weren't visible.

So looks like real hellcat, with badge changed.

Update.... fresh wash, clay, glaze and wax...... and the optional forged wheels installed.

Still a blast to drive, every single time.

Ah nice the forged wheels. I remember those well. They look perfect on your Scat. Not so much on my R/T. Such nice wheels though. Looking great!

Dodge definitely hit a grand slam with these models.

And theyre quite affordable. I paid $35,000 for it.... the only down side is the fuel cost. But that sting goes away pretty quickly with 485hp

Friggin incredible value. I can't think of another sporty car that you can buy new for 35k with almost 500hp!!

Definitely the power is awesome.

But to ask for more details, given the rep of FCA, how has reliability been so far and how do you feel about the interior quality/materials?

I have zero complaints or issues with the car.

there is a ton of AMG in these cars... at least it feels that way. The “Chrysler” of yesteryear is Long, Long gone and Dodge has been reborn.

fit and finish is excellent. Uconnect is awesome. The drivetrain is just..... sex.

and for anyone interested.... you can get a leftover 17 Scatpack for under $34k at Koons in Vienna, VA.

these cars are ridiculous

Seeing this thread definitely has me intrigued for a potential future car, and upgrading to a higher hp is definitely very interesting. After some research....

I was looking at the SRT 392 vs the R/T Scat Pack, it seems the SRT 392 adds these things: adaptive suspension, 6 piston bigger brakes, wider rear tires (though wheels are same), audio system, HID headlights, leather interior. But prices on the SRT 392 definitely is 40k+ even for used examples.

I would still think the Scat Pack is going to be a great value and you can always get wider tires and upgrade the brakes...I personally don't care that much for leather or a HID/LED headlights.

Do you think the 392 will become a deal and did you ever consider looking at a 392 or do you think the value sweet spot is with the Scat Packs and then upgrade components as needed?

TO ME: the price jump is NOT worth the SRT adjustable suspension. 0.5” wider wheels, 6 (in lieu of 4) piston Brembos and a slightly thicker steering wheel. The Scats are the previous SRT’s. I stil, have Bilsteins i still have Brembos. I still have the ZF, i still have 485hp. So, if you want to spend ~$10k for those improvements (which don’t make it a faster car), go for it!

Yeah I feel the same way. I can probably add wider tires (as I think many Scat owners do as I read this is a huge gripe with them) and then probably swap out for bigger/better brakes as well. Those two are what I would do as tires and brakes are very crucial, imo, to properly match to a high hp car.

But otherwise yeah, doesn't seem the extra cost justifies the additional materials to me as well.

The Scat Pack is a bad ass ride and I did the same comparisons before ordering mine. As someone who's had both the Scat Pack and the SRT Chargers, I can offer up some of my opinions on some of the differences.

1. I put over 22k miles on my Scat Pack in a bit over a year and the adjustable suspension would have been a good feature to have. Now that I have it on the Hellcat, it's fantastic for highway driving. However, see next point
2. Tires, the 245s on the Scat Pack were terrible. I ended up putting on 275 width Continental Extreme Contact Sports a month before trading it in and it transformed the car. Ride became better, quieter, and had loads more grip.
3. The 6 piston Brembos on the SRT are amazing, but the 4 piston Brembos on the Scat Pack are more than adequate. The replacement front rotors for the SRT are very expensive.
4. Steering wheel on both cars feel great. The thicker wheel on the SRT feels a bit better, but the paddle size much better. Heated SRT wheel doesn't seem to get as nice and toasty as the Scat Pack wheel did.
5. Seat bolstering design is mildly different on the SRT vs. Scat Pack. Neither is really better than the other, just different.
6. Track modes in SRT model offer faster shifting, higher shift points, and less forgiving traction control. Hard to compare transmissions since I have the beefier one in the Hellcat now. If you buy the Tazer unit, you can unlock the SRT pages and access the track mode for the transmission.
7. SRT experience I haven't used it yet, but you get a day at Bondurant Driving School for free when you purchase any of the SRT models. Hoping to do that sometime in the spring.

Awesome! Thanks a ton for providing those insights, very useful. Looks like bigger tires and potentially bigger brakes (looks like the scat pack brakes are just a bit smaller in diameter in rotors vs the srt 392) are really the two things I could see useful to spend money to upgrade on! And definitely with how much scat packs are discounted these days....huge bargain/value!

That Hellcat of course is also super badass, but for me I feel like 700hp may be way too much for me to comfortably handle on the streets. I'm thinking 400-500hp is a good spot for the streets personally...

Little update.... slow freezing temps here in Philly for a while now and have been driving the beater Dakota. But, the Scat still gets dirty, which i cannnot stand. Soooo, i tried my hand with a rinseless car wash. The car was filthy. 1 gallon of hot water with 1 oz of the solution. 2 microfiber towels and...

awesome shit

So going from an Accord to a Scat pack.

How many times more do you fill up a month? 3, 4, 10 times more a month.

Men are not meant to be monogamous! there i said it.

At least not according to the Survival of the fittest theory! We are supposed to spread our gene as much as we could to ensure the surivial rate of our next generations !

We are doing it for the Science, not for ourselves!!

Fuel? It’s definitelt an added cost. But that’s the trade off driving a car that’s as docile as an Accord but can pretty much blow the doors off I’d anything around me, any time i wish.

And the fuel/mileage is mostly spent on my beater Dakota. I drive 50 miles/day for work, mostly all highway. I brought the Charger to work MAYBE 5 times since I’ve had it.

I didnt buy a Scatpack based on its mpg. I bought it based on spg (smiles per gallon)
