I have to appear in court for a fix-it ticket... or so I thought.

Some of you probably know that I got a fix-it ticket for modified exhaust a while ago. I finally replaced the ricer muffler ($30) and even put in a brand new windshield ($130 w/ labor).

I went to traffic court today and I showed them the ticket and told them I got everything fixed and then some. Then they said that I have to pay the $118.50 fine because theres no way they could tell if it was fixed or not. Just come down and take a look at it, FFS!

I arranged a court date and they set me up for an arraignment. Again, wtf? Can I still contest the violation?

On the ticket it says under "Code and Section": CUC 27151195 (not sure about the last 3 digits) - Modified Exhaust. And the cop marked no for "correctable violation" and circled it as an Infraction. I don't understand how its not a correctable violation when it took me 15 minutes to change out the mufflers.... ridiculous!

Just don't mess around with the CARB stuff and it isn't that bad. If you are retarded and put on a loud ass shit sounding muffler then you deserve to get a ticket (not in any way referencing the OP's muffler)

doesn't necessarily have to be loud. i've gotten pulled over in my cl when I used to have my greddys and those were well within stock decibel limits. all i had to do was get a decibel reading on it to show them it was well within the range ( i believe 95 is the max?)

it's honestly not bad at all. I'm sure you guys have laws in IL if your exhaust is to loud. And CARB parts are very easy to get around.
