I was coming home last night....in my accord...and I saw the cop from a mile away...so I slowed down, but this jack ass was on my ass as I was slowing down, so he blows past me. I was thinking to myself...doesn't he see the cop....hes gonna get busted....I went past him at like 60 tops and which is right where the construction zone sarts....I get off at the next exit and sure as shit he flies up on my with the lights on! He starts raising his voice telling me about how I could kill construction worker....and did I know how fast I was going. I said yeah I was going around 60.....then I said that guy behind me passed me at like 75 atleast. Then he says no...you were going 75...and it in a construction zone, so that means you were going 30 over. I know I wasn't speeding....I'll be the first to admit when I'm wrong....but in this case I saw him and there was no way I was going that fast... he clocked the guy next to me, but I was the easy stop. ITS FUCKING BULLSHIT!

I got pulled over for 81 in 55 last night. Cop said he thought I was going much faster but slowed down because of trafic.

What car were you driving? The Cobra? What was the car that passed you.
What was the speed limit? Couldn't have been 60 since the cop said 30 over at 75. That would make the limit 45mph. If your doing 60 that's still 15 over.

It was on the expressway...a 55mph zone. The construction zone was 45mph. He was sitting before the construction zone...about 1/4 mile. I saw him about 1/4 mile so I slowed to around 60 in a 55. While I was slowing down...a guy in a black 4 door Camry flew past me into the construction zone...(the left lane was closing) I was maybe going 50 in a 45. He pulled me over instead of going after the guy that passed me. I was in my Accord...not the Cobra.

i always thought that when they clock you, their laptop or computer or w/e also shows your license plate so they know who it is? I might be wrong, but if that's the case, argue that.

I told him that I saw him....why would I speed past him? AND this guy flies around me and he gets away! The cop was a lazy piece of shit...thats about it!

more than likely it will. almost any moving violation will go on your record. I'm not trying to be a butthead but unless you fight it and win your record screwed for awhile.
also: good luck fighting against a cop. the judges almost always takes the cop's side. even if it's bull crap. I'd say you're gonna have to pay at least 375+ court cost + insurance increase for 3 years.
I think around here a cop could arrest the anyone for anything and the judge will uphold it.
I know the city or county has a budget to meet but getting money out of good citizens this way pisses them off.

You get 3 moving violations per year in IL. This would be my second....the 3rd one is a conviction. So I don't know how it works...

in Ohio you can get as many as you want. just at 12 points they yank your lisence.
then 3 years from the date of the offence they pull that offence(amount of points) from your record. I got one that should come off in October of 08. so I still got a little while.

Quick question for the Illinois guys: what is the going rate of speed in Chicagoland's 55 zones? 70ish? What about the 45 mph construction zones? Michigan drivers do 80 in Michigan's 45 zones, nobody here takes the state legislature seriously, and unlike Ohio, Michigan cops apparently don't have resources to patrol construction zones.
... which doesn't make sense, because I KNOW that Ohio cops sit in construction zones to generate mad revenue. I'm thinking about going down to Cleveland this month for a couple days, but Cleveland is under Orange Barrel attack just like Chicago and Detroit this spring/summer, and it's not like Ohio cops will ever stop being pricks. Ever.
