I Bought A Boat

Indeed I did. Going to be a new daily drive/project car towards the end of summer. I'm going to end up selling the CL in a couple of months to save some money, but I already found her (lesser) replacement. It's a 1983 Lincoln Town Car, 140k miles, excellent condition, paid $2000.

These seats are 23 years old!

I bought it from a preacher. It was his wife's car. It has a digital speedo, loads of room, and the old Ford 302ci/5.0L V8 from the Mustang. It's paid for, I don't have to worry about it in parking lots, and I no longer have to flip up seats to carry around more than two people. Yay me.

In high school I used to have a part time job chauffeuring this guy to the airport, I drove him in a car identical to that one. It really is like driving a boat, you try to aim that big Lincoln hood emblem at where you are headed...

And people are being tough on me for wanting to possibly trade in my CL for an Audi!

Congrats!

What do you have planned to do to it since it'll be a project car???

Monthly improvements instead of monthly payments works for me...

I hate car payments, and that's one of the reasons I'll have my CL for awhile...

I demo derbyed a car VERY similar to that but it wasn't as clean. I got a 83 Town Car out of the junkyard for like 300 bucks. painted it like "General Lee" it was the sh!t until i blew the raidator and tranny. then i called it a piece of shit.

x10

I get MUCH more satisfactions paying cash for a car then paying monthly. Plus if you don't like the car down the road it won't feel as bad cause it's paid off.

I have no problem with him getting his finances in order but that car is a social death sentence for a 20 year old.

But like everyting else it seems, Minch probly doesn't care.

Dont listen to them. Any "friends" who judge you based on your ride are dicks anyway.

This coming from the girl who is turned off by a guy with an appletini. Im such a hypocrite sometimes

Personally I think all boat cars are sweet. Much cooler than your CL in my opinion...its got character.

If you painted it a different color, did 15% tint, put on a nice rumbling exhaust, changed the rims & lowered it, it wouldn't be a bad looking car at all.
