Nice Chris! I don't think I've ever seen one of those before, unless I didn't know what I was looking at when I did see one. What a great little fun project car. Good luck with it and nice find! So no plans to drop a J32 into it???

Good luck with it, I always liked the Type 3's.
Besides the '72 Karman Ghia convert I had, with mention of the 411 above I also had a '74 412 fastback; "strange" feature it had a gasoline fired heater so you didn't have to rely on engine heat getting into the cabin like on the older bugs; this heater burned gasoline from the fuel tank and heated air via air/air heat exchanger. I was always waiting for that to blow up but it never did.
Those notch backs in the pics above are my favorite.
