A Hyundai made the high mileage club!
This is freaking awesome!
A 2013 Hyundai Elantra has made it to 1 million miles on it's original powertrain! :toocool: I know there's sone members here who love their Hyundais, so what do you guys think? |
She drives "24/7," get on it MM.
|
I'm surprised because iirc the engine in that model year Elantra was recalled so I'm wondering if tbis is before or after it was replaced.
|
My engine is also recalled but was not replaced after being tested  I never even got the test results.
|
My 2009 Genesis sedan just clicked over 202k miles and the only thing I've ever done to it in over 7 years is oil/tire changes and I had to replace a faulty O2 sensor. Still on the original brake pads!!!
|
Yeah those older Gennys are like the Legends IMO! Super solid!
A few hours ago, I actually saw a lightly modded gen coupe with "Genny" on the plate! https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/acurazi...f01f0410ac.jpg These may be "Classics" one day... I say this because I'm yet to see a Genesis (sedan) beaten up in a bad neighborhood even though they've been out for 10 years now!!! |
I think that's why the resale on my Optima isn't that great... Too many of them became "hood" cars...
Look at the Impala  |
If you're gonna deal drugs and run from the cops, why drive an Impala, to die in pursuit?
|
Haha, Impala, Malibu, Crown Vic!!! I still love the Optima though (especially the 2013 SXL's)! Still a great looking car today!
|
Lets say she drove 365 days a year. At 200,000 miles per year as stated, that is 548 miles per day. I say BS! I doubt she averaged 54.8 mph in a ten hour day making stops for deliveries.
Sure it had the same powertrain. That does not mean that it was never opened up for something like a head job. |
No telling. I do know it was used by a group of people as a courier or delivery car.
Either way, I feel that these cars can last. The only thing that I'm not worried about on my Kia Optima is reliability. At 173,587 and running like new! |

People like to stretch the truth and exaggerate. High miles are nothing without a detailed spreadsheet showing all expenditures. I have a detailed one for every car and motorcycle of mine. High mileage is no big deal if you maintain the car and don't abuse it. My old 1999 Honda CR-V is in the hands of a friend now with over 180,000 miles and he'll hit 240,000. Not bad considering cold winter starts and all. |
We're just about to hit 240K miles on our 2007 RDX, got it in 2/2016 at 175K miles! Has had some issues, suspension, electrical, starter, A/C clutch/condenser coil, waterpump, engine mount and recently two massive oil leaks. Got that taken care of and runs like a champ. A few more things to address, but nothing major. Mainly electrical (actuator and backup camera) and steering pump.
I drive pretty hard but none of our vehicles have ever shown signs of mechanical wear, like engine/tranny or anything. |

This thread was dead anyeays... |
My friends was a courier and easily did 100K a year but I find it very hard to believe a single person could do 250K.
|
100K a year is about a tank of gas a day, in the average Acura...

Dayum, some high mileage cars on here. I'm about to join the club here soon too. The Golf will hit 10k in about 2 months from now and the S2000 will likely hit 50k this year!

He broke the engine block in a wreck??? :what: What else broke? Did he hit the bricks at like 80 mph???
|
It was a '92 Civic. You could total those in a parallel parking mishap nowadays.

We couldn’t believe it either. But he had a coolant leak in the block afterward. |
