How long have you kept your cars?
It will be 5 yrs this December since I bought my 04 TSX. This is only my 3rd car overall I've daily driven since 16. I only owned a 99 Accord my folks bought for me from 99-03. I did drive a hand me down 88 Accord from 1995-99 though. We got rid of that car after 11 yrs. What is the longest you've kept your car?

I've never had/driven a car for more than an entire year.... but I'm not one of those people who swaps their cars every 6 mos *cough*Jesal*cough* Its not that I get bored with cars, so much as I want something different. I just don't like, for instance, going from an Integra coupe to a Civic Si.... 2-door 4-seater inline-4 Honda to another 2-door 4-seater inline-4 Honda. Nothing wrong with either cars, its just too similar for my liking.
I'll probably keep my Camaro for another year or two at least though.... its been a fast 10 months. There simply isn't anything else in the same price range with the same amount of power, handling (big improvement with just Koni shocks, think Comptech RSB on a TL, and then some) and the ability to become an open-air car. Plus its so damn fun to go sideways, and so easy in it too. I swear I'm not an attention whore but the car gets so much attention... that doesn't hurt either.
I'm afraid I'll eventually regret it if I do sell the car. But I've yet to drive anything that convinces me to spend 2x more than what I did for the car itself, so until I get a really high paying job it'll stay that way
My next car could be almost anything. I considered hatchbacks, wagons, roadsters, sedans, coupes, even a truck.

One on the right for me
I bought my rust mustang when I was 15 and I still have it. Daily drove it for a number of years.
As for regular daily drivers - TL has been the longest so far - 4 years. The last two cars were ruined by people running into me. Hopefully it doesn't happen again. I want to drive this into the ground.

My first car was a 1978 Ford LTD II which I purchased in 1982. Still have it. My second longest is my 1986 Grand National, purchased new and still sits in my garage. I'm lucky enough to have owned a number of interesting cars throughout the years, but eventually sell them. The shortest period of ownership for me was about three weeks, selling a Shelby GT500 I had purchased new because someone offered me more money than I had paid for it. My Accord? I can honestly say I'll keep it for some time yet.

I miss my 03 CL-S :(
92 Camry kept for almost 5 years.
03 CL-S kept for a little over 2 years before it was totaled in an accident.
04 TSX is my current car and is just over 4 years old.
I've started saving for a new car and will buy in the next 6-9 months if things go well, so I guess ~5yr average if you don't count the CL-S.

I've had a TSX for just over 5 years which is by far the longest (by about 3 years) I've ever kept a car. Mind you I've only had this MT TSX for 2.5 years, still the longest I've ever had a car.
I'll likely be keeping it for at least another 4-5 years.

'04 TSX: a little over 3 years so far. Probably keep it for another 1-2 years. I bought it used so it's actually 4.5 years old now.
All my previous cars were my parents' cars. They usually keep them till about 100k miles or 10 years.

Drifting
My family tends to keep cars for a long time. Though the TSX is my first car, I've had it for almost 4 years and plan on keeping it for much longer than that.
In the past, my parents have had only a few cars in the last 20 years.
'89 Mazda 929 - Bought brand new when I was 6 months old in September of 1988. Kept the car until 1998 and it was still running strong but was totaled when my dad hit a patch of black ice and totaled it
'93 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited - Bought brand new, drove it up until last year when the engine was going on us. Gave it up with 230K on the clock
'95 Mazda Milennia S - Bought in 1998 after my dad wrecked the 929. Bought it used with 41K on the clock and drove it up to 210K. The supercharger was gone on it and my dad was putting in a quart of oil every 2 days just to keep it going. Still rode great but was becomming a headache
Since then, we've picked up an '03 Accord EX (sister), '04 TSX (mine), '05 TL (Dad), and '05 Mountaineer (Mom) and we'll all probably keep them well into the next decade at least.

The average for how long I keep my cars is 1.5625 years. With the longest being 3 years and the shortest duration being 6 months. Though I plan on keeping my current car for 4 years, I drive so much less now then I used to it seems far to wasteful to go through cars like I used to.

With the exception of my Acura's which I had for ~3 years each, I've never owned a car for more then 2. If my memory is correct...
1987 Mustang - 18 months
1995 Sunfire GT - 2 years
1998 CL 3.0 - 3 years
2002 TL-S - 3 years
2004 Mazda RX8 - 4 months
Now my wife on the other hand, keeps her cars. Her last car (1994 Camry) we had for 10 years. He previous Audi (05.5 A4) we had for 2.5 years. And he current car (06 A6) we'll likely keep for at least 3 years till the warranty gets close to running out.

My first car was a 1995 Mazda Millenia for 1 year and 2 months.
Then I bought a 2005 Scion tC. Kept it for 1 year and 5 months and traded it in for
2006 TSX. This is the longest I've kept the car for, 2 years and 4 months. The lease is over next April, and I'll probably end up getting another 2006 TSX or a TL

My first car was a hand-me-down purchase from my uncle. 68 Dart, got it in 80, kept it 3 years. Second car was my first new car, 86 IROC-Z Camaro (no, I didn't have a mullet). Kept it 5 years till it started to break down. Next new car was my Integra, 1991 LS, which I kept for 13 years until I bought my 04 TSX, which I still have and plan on keeping for another 4-5 years. So, I guess I'm averaging one every 7.5 years.

too many hobbies...
My goal for my cars is 10 years and 150-200K miles. My last car, was a 1994 Prelude, which I bought used in 1997 and just replaced it with my TL-S in Dec 2007. I would have liked to keep my Prelude longer, but with the recent baby addition to my family, it just wasn't practical. I was 25 when I bought my Prelude and 35 when I bought my TL-S. Before the Prelude, I drove about 3 or 4 hand-me-downs from my folks.
I love my TL-S! I will hopefully keep it a minimum of 10 years, and possibly 15 if I can squeeze that much out of it!

Longest has been 7 plus years for my 94 Tbird... CL is second with 5 1/2 years...
Oh, wait, I've owned my vw bus since 1999, so I guess that's the longest, but it's been off the road for the past 5 years with a blown engine
Before 1995, I hadn't paid more than $1000 for any car I owned, so most of them only lasted a year or two (sometimes less)...

All About Trance
I usually hold on to a car for a long time. My first car I had gotten with some help from my grandmother was an '89 Toyota Corolla GT-S back in '92. Man, I loved that car! It was my first manual and it was power everything. I finally got rid of it after it kept stalling on me in 2002 and ended up in an '01 Accord. I gave the Accord to my sister after buying my '05 TL. I'll be holding onto this for a looooooooooooong time. I hate making car payments.

Wow. Some of you guys go through cars really fast.
Maybe we should start adding in number of miles.
Camry: 30K in the 3 years
Maxima: 170K in the 8 years. 99% of that was in the first 5 years I had it.
CLs: 52K in 3 years
Pathfinder: 22K in 2 years.
I35: 50K in 2 years.
