Ugh. Worst job I've ever seen.

And I don't know which attorney that guy contacted, but he could probably recover something.

Most likely not the value of the car, but he could definitely get the labor and damage to the aftermarket parts back. I mean any reasonable person would know that that shop did a shitty ass job.

But that shop did qoute him ridiculously low for all the work he was asking for. So although I feel bad for the guy, its a good life lesson: if you want something done right, do some research, go with reputation/quality and pay more to get it done right the first time.

good idea to read through the whole thing (albeit long); I believe the guy upon seeing the work immediately took it home not because he had no trust for the shop to keep the car any longer.

i def. wouldn't have left it w/ them either.

even worse that they didn't just mess up the job, they've completely messed up parts of his car ((assumed to have) dropped and dented door), drilled holes into the chassis and bumper, etc.

that's completely messed up; the shop owner sounds like a goddamn kid.

At the end of the thread he says he believes after some thought that the guy never unhinged the door to raise them up but rather the dent on the bottom was from a floor jack being used to jack the whole door up while still attached.

The problem is he and his friend did in fact pay for the work and sign off on it which makes their case a harder one. The other problem is small claims court cases rarely see the prosecuting party receiving any compensation since the defendant is usually a deadbeat (which this guy seems to fit the bill not only physically but financially as well). Hopefully if they find enough other cases the most that will happen is they will shut down the shop which, in this case, seems like justice to me

Pity to see such a nice looking car destroyed like that. There were warning signs though...

It's hard to believe after looking at those pictures that the body shop guy didn't do this on purpose. How is it possible to make those screws that crooked not on purpose? Either he did it on purpose or he's on crack. I couldn't make it that bad if I tried. The runny paint, the wood screws, the door jacked up. There's no way someone would do this thinking someone would be okay with it. Seems like he did it to say F*CK YOU to the car owner.
