Honda drivers = smart, Chevy drivers = stupid

Pretty interesting article. I highly agree, Chevrolet drivers tend to be uneducated morons who haven't a clue how to find their way around the internet. I'm surprised they even know how to breathe! They aren't quite what you'd call the sharpest tools in the shed.![Wink](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/wink.gif)
Some more factoids
from the article:
Ferrari drivers are rich douchebags
Bentley owners are wealthy, pompous bastards that don't want to show it
Also, what LS1tech members think of the article. Judging by some of the grammar.....![Tomato](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/tomato.gif)

BTW, if you want to check the English grammar, look no further than postings on this site. So of it is pretty amazing.

That seems to be a rather elitist stance, don't you think? I'm going to say you are just advancing this thought in a bit of humorous tongue-in-cheek.

Through my own ridiculously vetted screening process, I have concluded that Honda Accord drivers are the worst in the world. So there you go.

Hey, I still own a Ford (Ranger pickup) and I can only hope my two TL's wind up being as reliable as that little gem.

Yeah, my post was intended to be tongue-in-cheek, and unfortunately the article wasn't. Kind of intended to stir the pot, if you will. I think the true idiot is the one that tries to further a broad stereotype that obviously doesn't apply to everyone. Just another Forbes article that should have been more about finances and less about cars. It's sorta funny in a way, though.

Funny article, seems like it was intended to generate a reaction and nothing more. I have a strong feeling the typical drivers of Mazda, Toyota, Subaru, Honda and probably now even Hyundai are all very similar demographically. I think there still is a big divide among the domestic manufacturers, as evident by the "I wouldn't drive a foreign car" mindset that is still very strong, as where the drivers of the aforementioned Asian brands are more open minded. If I felt the big 3 domestic brands made cars on par with their foreign counterparts I wouldn't hesitate to purchase one. The same can not be said of the die hard domestic fans.

I have a bias towards Japanese nameplates, mostly based on features/content, but that's only because I'm much smarter, richer and better looking than those who buy slower, higher-depreciation, less reliable domestic cars with fewer features.

In California, I've run across quite a few people who refuse to drive domestics and will only drive "Japanese" cars (like the Odyssey
).

Seriously though, I typically only shop the Japanese big three when looking for a new ride. Aside from BMW and MB, my wife has a more hardcore bias in favor of Japanese makes (more so Nissan and Toyota than Honda).
I wont commit to any refusal to own a domestic car as there are a few that I do like and would own (Pontiac G8, GMC Acadia, CTS, Fusion/Milan, Edge, etc,..) The only caveat is that I'm not willing to pay the same money for a Fusion or Edge that I would for a similarly equipped Honda Accord or Nissan Murano.

As much as I lust for another brand I keep pussing out and buying a Honda. I bought this Fit because I needed an urban run about. The TL was seriously going to be replaced twice for other brands, but I still kept it.

This will tell you how smart I really am-- I lust after the Maserati Indy and Maserati Ghibli-- limited production Italian GT cars made between workers' strikes from the late '60s-early '70s with multiple carbs.
![Why Me](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/whyme.gif)
I haunted Pontiac showrooms a few times to look at the GTO and G8, then visited Cadillac to look at the CTS-- the increasing size of the cars, both foreign and domestic, annoys me, so I still have the TL.

When I am in the market for a new personal driving machine (sorry, that term fits my wants), my first inclination is to see what the domestic market has. I want to give American car companies the first shot at my requirements. However, if they have nothing to offer that suits my wants and needs, then I go elsewhere. I buy what I want at the time I want it from which every manufacturer has what I am looking for at the time. Simple as that.
