Cool Honda/Acura vs. Nissan/Infiniti

Ugly song in this video, but i thought the enemy of nissan and honda is toyota/lexus? aren't nissan and honda supposed to be allies? Look at the end of the video the person who made this video said that "Nissan kicks ass, Honda are just overrated piece of sh*t cars".

I haven't watched the video, but it's just someones opinion.

If any automaker doesn't have any stake in another, then they are naturally competitors. I don't htink Honda or Nissan has any kind of stake in each other, so they are competitors. With that said, Honda has been lacking as of late, especially in the "premium" department (ie Acura).

Personally, if I were to buy a family sedan, the Accord would be at the top of my list.
If I were to buy an entry level car, Civic would be at the top of my list.
If I were to buy a minivan, the Odessey would be at the top of my list.
If I were to buy a sports car, S2000 would be at the top of my list.
If I were to buy an SUV, MDX would be at the top of my list (which will most likely be my next car anyway).
If I were to buy a near-lux sedan, G35 would be at the top of my list.
If I were to buy a midlux sedan, M would be at the top of my list.

Agreed. For the most part,

I have had both. My I35 is one of 3 Nissans I have owned. And my sister has an Altima. My mom and dad had at least 4 over the years. Including a Nissan Bluebird....Google it.

I think from a mpg standpoint Honda/Acura is better Nissan/Infiniti. My CL was great on gas for a V6 with a fair amount of power. I also think that the handling of the CL was better than my Maxima, or I35 or my sister's Altima.

Other than that, I think think Nissan beats Honda. My I35 is by far the most comfortable car I have owned. A lot better than the CL or the TL I tested out.

I find the power to be a lot more available on the Nissan than the Hondas.

Styling I feel is about equal on both. They each have their strong and week points.

as well.

but nissan does offer some niche cars that honda doesn't: FX in particular. depending on what i want from an SUV, i'd take the FX over the MDX.

and i would definitely take the new maxima over the accord but accord over the altima.

the one huge advantage honda had over nissan, in my opinion, was the interior design and quality. however, that's no longer the case as nissan has really stepped it up with the recent models.

The interiors on nissans and infinitis are still butt ugly. a guy at work has a g37, my brothers friend has an altima se-r and this other guy at work has a new altima. my cl has a nicer interior than all 3.

and 'd take a mdx over an fx anyday simply based on looks and the interior. god that thing is slick.

to each his own.

the altima SE-R is an older nissan though.

even the newer altima doesn't have the "new" designs like the murano, G, maxima, etc.

but if you don't like the G37's, that's fine. i happen to like it a lot.

The CL interior is almost a mirror image of the TL interior.

After sitting around in the G37 for a bit ... I do have to say the CL/TL interior can hold its own but the G37 interior has definitely leaps & bounds better than the G35 it replaces.

Which one is "better" is a matter of preference. I like both for the virtues each one offers. The rear seat to the CL is more functional than the G37 (ie more headroom) but materials ... they are at par on appearance but the G has greater attention to detail, IMHO.

Honda/Acura vs Nissan/Infiniti. What almost all will agree on this forum is that Honda is the more fuel efficient company whereas Nissan has more "sport" to their models. Which car one prefers ... a matter of person taste.

with Mr. Deeno list as well (though I might be more inclined towards a Z4 over the S2K).

My current garage is 2 Hondas (07 AV6, 98 Civic) and 3 Nissans (05 Murano, 05 Altima 3.5SE and 00 Quest). Particularly in comparing my AV6 and my son's Alti, both have distinct advantages and disadvantages that pretty much wash in the end.

Notably (and ignoring the EX-L packaging for a moment), my Accord appears to have a more upscale interior to the Alti but, it also has a couple of rattles already whereas the Alti's seems cheap but is void of any rattles or buzzes (despite being two years older and having 75k on the clock). (.....and my old 02 Maxima was similar to Alti in this regard.)

Now ergonomically, the Accord interior layout is executed much better than the Alti (or my old Maxima). But then again, ergonomic superiority does mean superior quality.

I don't know. In Europe we consider Nissan a better sister of Renault.
In my list Mitsubishi, Suzuki, Subaru and Nissan (Nissan NOT Infiniti) make the MOST UGLY cars in the world. Their designers are simply drunk.
Honda can make ugly cars and very beautiful cars.
Nissan Primera is a good car.
Nissan Maxima is a shit.
Nissan Theana is a double shit (one of the most ugly design on the earth and low quality).
Nissan Micra is funny but low qualitative.
Nissan Quasquai is ugly but good.
Nissan Pathfinder ridiculous.
Nissan Armada, the worst SUV on the world with the QX56.
Nissan 350Z, a great car with a strange look.
Nissan GT-R ugly (yes ugly) but simply stunning.

Infiniti. All the Infiniti have the same shape.
BUT the G35 is ugly but great.
The G37 coupe is beautiful and great.
The EX35 is very good but the ugliest SUV on the planet with Acura RDX.
The FX35 is very good and futuristic.
The QX... WTF are the thinking about???

Mr deeno pretty much explained it all. But with the current offerings from each manufacturer, I'd lean a little more on the Nissan/Infiniti part. The new MDX,TL and RL were the last ''great'' cars from Acura. in the past years whereas Nissan and Infiniti have had plenty of success with almost their whole lineup. About their interiors, I see why people could say their ugly but I could personally live with it.

thought they were allies, but i guess they're rivals, just like toyota and honda are as well of course. at least their luxury divisions, acura and infiniti make more exciting cars than lexus and don't cost you an arm and a leg and rip you off like lexus does.

G35 outside looks nice interior sucks. TL outside not as great looking as G35 but interior much better. But I wouldn't spend 37 thousand on a G35 when I could have an A4 especially since the G35 only gets 23mpg yuck. But I doubt I would ever buy an Inifinti ever theres no models I see worth buying.

looks like TL 6MT > G35 6MT > G35 5AT > TL 5AT

Honestly, TL 5AT is slow, I thought the G35 5AT would crush the TL 5AT, at least more than what that vid shows...the 6MT TL in the other vid is driven by one of our members, and he's done 13.9 at the 1/4mile with an intake only. That's nearly a second faster than a stock 5AT TL (normally at 14.8s, at best 14.6 or so).

2008 MY does not have orange gauges.

Besides, the M gauges can be puke color or whatever, but M interior >>>>> G interior. I had a G loaner...it's good, but isn't "midluxury" good.

That is extremely optimistic for a stock 3G TL 5AT (nonType S, that is). But , the TL 5AT (as with my 07 AV6 5AT) is slow...mainly off the line. However, it fares better from a roll, where hp (rather than torque) plays a bigger part.

Yea, like I said, that's "at best," perhaps with some really good weather conditions, plus an awesome driver, and also some tailwind. I said 14.6 based on one of the CL guys who got 14.3@101mph with I/H in a 5AT and also Jeff's number (14.5s in a 5AT). I wish there's a bit more torque below 3000rpm, that's the part that's really killing the speed off the line.

i like the new infiniti interiors a lot.

but it's all a matter of taste. some prefer the simpleness of the european interiors. some don't. some don't like the quality of the materials in the infinitis. but it's all been beaten to death.

that G35C driver needs to learn how to launch a RWD and stop hitting the rev limiter.

a video clip proves nothing but stupid idiots like to street race.

any car can beat any car in a single race but chances are you beat the driver, not the car.

Very well said, that's why you should only consider results from professional drivers, such as the drift king himself.

http://forums.maxima.org/showthread.php?t=390874

And what's better than comparing performance of cars by using lap times driven on the same day, same time, and same driver?

Much better I guess I'm still thinking of the 1st gen G35s those interiors had way too much plastic. But I'm sorry I don't find the G37 as a goodlooking car. I much rather take a 335i coupe over a G37. But performance wise no doubt Infiniti is better than Acura.

Quick Reply: Honda/Acura vs. Nissan/Infiniti
