An AWD, 3 row Italian station wagon with a 4cyl engine and only heated seats.

I understand a lot of you like the AWD systems. I can't justify the added cost of
-gas, especially on long road trips
-mechanical unknowns of an AWD system
-cost to replace/service the AWD system

With that being said, if I can find a pretty good example of say, an MDX with low mileage (lower than 50K miles) (Advance or otherwise), then I would look at it and consider it.

AWD system isn't that complicated. Servicing isn't that crazy. Replace diff fluid every 50k miles? You want a big engine which uses gas... a big body vehicle which uses lots of gas. But a better drivetrain and your like "no! Too much gas!"

Do you know how much more gas it even uses? Have you even considered it or crossed it off the list without looking into it even?

And how often do you do these long road trips? You can't spend an extra $50-100 on fuel for a whole trip? I know it sucks. But it gets quite literally everything else you wanted.

Pretty sure Florida has had cars for at least the last 70 years and people got by just fine without ventilated seats. Pretty sure plenty of people still don’t have ventilated seats and somehow they survive everyday. You do realize it takes a few minutes for those seats to cool your ass down, right? You’re ass is still going to be burning hot when you get in.

It’s you who came up with the impossible to meet wish list. So once again, quit being a baller on a budget and up your price point, or settle for something less. There’s no two ways about it.

In the mean time, I’ll write GM a letter to see if they’ll build you that one-off Traverse...
I don't think all cars do but I know GM cars with ventialted seats and heated seats they come out with remote start based on outside temperature. Amazing feature really.

I don't really see anything bad here. The MDX is one of the safest SUVs out there. At this point what about a Volvo XC90?

The 2019 CX5 will have a better engine but no cooled seats I believe. In every other way it’s really good.

Though I'm sure the ventilated seats will trickle down in the 2020 or so.
Curious how the 2.5T will perform in the CX5 & hope they don't de-tune it from the M6/CX9.

omg.. AWD system gets 1 mpg less than FWD

Many AWD systems are actually very robust and have very little service add-ons or failures over non-AWD platforms
Change the diff oil, and possibly transfer case oil, although this is integrated in most systems now

Look up SH-AWD failures, it's stout

AWD systems aren't some strange enigma only available on high end supercars. They are pretty normal and widely available at this point, which should be obvious based on this thread. There are very few mechanical unknowns and different repairs (other than maybe rear diff oil) that would differ from the FWD versions of the same car. The fuel consumption difference is negligible which is a testament to how good they've become these days.

No bueno. 3rd row seat and only comes with a 4 banger.

I'd skip the airbags. Don't know about any future repairs or maintenance required due to having them.

Not hating...but, seriously, don't get it. I completely understand being fiscally responsible, no matter what walk of life you are from. But, if one has the $$$ to buy new funbags for the wife, why is the "fuel efficiency" of an AWD (vs FWD or whatever) for an SUV even in consideration???? FFS, this is not like some gas-guzzling V8 like say, the FX50 or QX80...so, I just don't get it.

If one has the financial means, I think some of these "nitpick" qualities make zero sense. Then again, maybe I'm just a wasteful who doesn't know how to handle money?

Again, per my prior quip, I don't get rich gwai-ros.
