Help fix my seatbelt

Help fix my seatbelt
I got the car used, and didn't noticed it.
The seatbelt tongue is backwards on the rear seat. I took the rear seats out and try to turn tongue around from the bottom. No I can't, because it does not slide out.
Before I remove the rear dash and such, can I remove the tongue off the belt from the top, where the seat belt mechanism is at?
Everything else on the belt works fine.
Just want to ask to save me some time.
(not actual pic, but looks the same, except the tongue is backwards.) Thank you.

1) Are you sure it's backwards? What passenger position is that belt for?
2) You can try twisting and folding the belt lengthwise-- there is usually enough room in the tongue's slot to permit the tongue to slide over the twist-folded belt, thus facing the opposite direction when the belt is untwisted. That worked in every car/minivan I've ever owned, FWIW.

Another thought, is it possible that the clasp is for a different seat position? Reach down in the seat and see if there is another clasp. The one you have out may be for the center seat belt.

& If you don't have three female connections, find the third under the seat and make sure it isn't supposed to be like that. If its not that, then fold the seatbelt above the latch such that it makes a 45 degree angle and slide the latch over the fold.

Really-- that photo doesn't show a hard, flat fold.
All you need to do is press the twisted belt flat and it will pass through the tongue slot.

I have had to do this a few times, and every time as I struggle to make it fit I wonder how in the world it happens in the first place.
