Help!!! Audio Qestion...I just need a quick response
I just got a sub installed last night, and I'm trying to find out how I tell if it's blown or not.
I can't remember if I heard it rattle last night or not, but today I hear a rattle. When sitting inside the car its sounds fine, but when outside the car with the trunk open, there's a little rattle in the center of the sub...can't really tell if its the box or the sub rattling, but sounds like the sub!!!
Any suggestions!
Thanx,
Oscar

If you are hearing strange noises coming from the sub, you are pushing it too hard.
Turn the system off and using both hands push on the cone lightly,
if you hear any rubbing or scraping, your voice coil has melted somewhat.
You must push evenly on both sides of the cone, if only one side is pushed you may hear a little scraping, so do it evenly.
