GS350AWD vs G35X vs S4????
I know these cars all seem very different but they all appeal to me for different reasons.
S4 - fastest (only slightly w tiptronic), nicest looking, "german emotional factor"
G35X - best value, best gadgets, more roomy than S4, reliable, good handling
GS350AWD - best luxury, reliable, roomiest, better looking than G35 IMO
Additional information - this is a daily driver so fuel economy and reliability DO matter. But it's also my 40th birthday present to myself so it has to do something for my mojo.

Thread needs a poll.
Fuel economy isnt that great on the S4.. but maybe the most fun out of your choices.
How about the bmw 328xi coupe? Or the 335xi sedan will be out shortly i think.

GS350. it's the best mix of everything. the G35 has never appealed to me. it's a good performer but the interior doesn't deserve to be called Infinit. couldn't look any cheaper unless it was made by GM. the GS is by far the roomiest and it gonna have the most comfortable ride. but i guess if you're into stationwagens then go for the S4, haha.

S4 comes as a sedan also
Even though I would take an S4 Avant in a second, I loves me a wagon

I am in the market for a new under $40k car in spring and have been driving myself crazy trying to figure out what's right for me. One day I am about a pre-driven low mileage boxsterS, then S2000, then RL, but I keep coming back to the new G, when it comes out in a few days(or maybe its out already?) it will seal its fate for me one way or another. It seems to offer everything the RL does(if not more) for a whole lot less $$$.

Press Release:
NASHVILLE, TN - October 27, 2007: Infiniti today announced pricing on the all-new, second-generation 2007 Infiniti G35 Sports Sedan, which is on sale now at Infiniti retailers nationwide. The 2007 G Sedan offers new exterior and interior designs, a more powerful standard 3.5-liter V6 engine now rated at 306 horsepower, a refined suspension design and a number of new standard luxury amenities – yet the base price remains exactly the same as the 2006 Infiniti G35 Sedan base model.
The Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) for the all-new 2007 Infiniti G35 starts at $31,450 for the rear-wheel drive V6-powered Infiniti G35 with 5-speed automatic; $31,900 for the Infiniti G35 Journey model with 5-speed automatic; $33,950 for the all-wheel drive Infiniti G35x AWD with 5-speed automatic transmission and Infiniti Intelligent All-Wheel Drive; $32,250 for the Infiniti G35 Sport 6MT equipped with a close-ratio 6-speed manual transmission; and $33,450 for the Infiniti G35 Sport, featuring a 5-speed automatic transmission with solid magnesium paddle shifters.
The 2007 G35 Journey model with the optional Premium Package, which is projected as the most popular model/trim combination, is priced $700 less than the comparable 2006 model and includes the Infiniti Studio on Wheels™ by Bose® Premium Audio System, 10-way power driver’s seat, Bi-Xenon headlights, and Intelligent Key with Push Button Start – features that were not available on the 2006 model.
“This all-new 2007 Infiniti G35 Sedan adds the features our customers want, along with enhanced performance, technology and interior warmth – all wrapped in a stunning new exterior design,” said Mark Igo, vice president and general manager, Infiniti. “The all-new G35 is an even greater consumer value than the first generation G, which is saying a lot.”
Available packages for the 2007 Infiniti G35 Sedan include Premium Package, Technology Package, 4-Wheel Active Steer package, 18-inch Performance Tire and Wheel package, and Infiniti Navigation Package with touch screen, voice recognition, XM® NavTraffic™ with real-time traffic information and a 9.6 gigabyte Music Hard Drive. Options for the 2007 Infiniti G35 Sedan include Satellite Radio (choice of XM® or Sirius), Sunroof, Rear Spoiler, and genuine African Rosewood Trim.
Pricing, specifications and option information can be found in the attachment.
About the 2007 G35 Sedan
The 2007 G35 Sedan receives an enhanced version of the award-winning VQ V6 engine series. Now entering its fourth generation, the new VQ35 3.5-liter V6 boasts a redesign of approximately 80% of its major parts. It now produces 306 horsepower and 268 lb-ft of torque. The new engine tuning strategy provides “Acceleration Swell,” which produces a more refined balance of quick acceleration that builds continuously to the engine’s horsepower peak for enhanced performance driving pleasure.
The 2007 G35 is built on an enhanced second-generation FM (Front Mid-ship) platform that positions the engine behind the front axle, allowing for an optimum front-to-rear weight balance that, along with the G’s long wheelbase and wider front and rear track, adds to its overall handling stability. The first-ever Infiniti 4-Wheel Active Steer system – optional on G35 Sport and G35 Sport 6MT – combines Infiniti’s Rear Active Steer with an all-new front active steer system which can vary the steering ratio based on vehicle dynamics.
The 2007 G35 Sedan’s interior and exterior styling has evolved, combining modern warmth and traditional Japanese design cues to distinguish the G’s luxury and performance attributes. The exterior is highlighted by the G’s long, wave-like hood, pushed back A-pillars and athletic stance.
The interior is designed to create a harmony between its dedicated driver’s cockpit and comfortable passenger space. The cabin features an available audiophile-quality Infiniti Studio on Wheels™ by Bose® Premium Audio System. Developed in conjunction with Bose®, the system achieves its superior sound balance by placing 10-inch woofers in each of the front doors and incorporating double oversampling 24-bit 96Khz Burr Brown® Digital-to-analog Converters. Sport models now feature front seat thigh extensions and power-adjustable torso and thigh bolsters for ultimate driver comfort and support.
The 2007 G35 Sedan remains a showcase for Infiniti’s technology and engineering leadership with the available advanced technologies that include RearView Monitor, touch-screen, Infiniti Navigation System with voice recognition, Intelligent Cruise Control (ICC) with Preview Braking, Adaptive Front lighting System (AFS), Infiniti’s Intelligent All-Wheel Drive system - ATTESA E-TS (Advanced Total Traction Engineering System for All Electronic Torque Split) - and 4-Wheel Active Steer. Intelligent Key with Push Button Ignition comes standard on all 2007 G35 Sedan models.

^^^ thanks for the update!
My only complaint about the new Infiniti is the aluminum trim doesn't look good with the black interior and the way the option packages are put together. I really want the back up camera, and its only available in the tech. package with other things I don't want, further, you need to get the navi. package to get the tech. package, and I don't want Navi. to complicate things even more you can only get the navi. package when you have the premium package(which I do want).

Hemant,
You don't need AWD because you live in Toronto. For the money that you're looking at (C$45k-C$70k) ... get the mid-life crisis sports car. I've already PM'ed you purchase options.
Seriously, I would look at a Cayman. (Not Canadian-spec). It's in your price range. You'll save at least C$10k.

Not ready for that yet, that would mean keeping two cars - gotta get a bigger house first!
GS 350awd is $30k more in Canada than the G35X, if I buy from the US I can cut that difference down to $15k which makes it more tempting.
I soo want to like the S4 but fuel economy and the fact that the 4.2 block is so old and detuned (look at the RS4) means performance leaves a lot to be desired.

hemants, there's a guy in my town, 10 miles south of Buffalo, who sells cars brought in from Canada w/o US warranties. You could buy one from him and take it home and be all set. Superior Auto, Hamburg, NY , Camp Road right near Thruway. He sells Vipers, Evo's, Sti's, Caymans, you name it, he can get it.

Update - drove the GS350AWD. Amazing car, very fast, does everything you ask it to, but...
-body roll and nose dive on braking
- centre console is very high, makes sport shift difficult to use
- very soft ride, my father in-laws ES330 in sport mode seems firmer - shouldn't be that way
Mind you the car had 17 inchers so that could have been part of it.
Going to drive the G35X soon, will report back.

i love g35s, but coupes.. the sedans don't do anything for me. if the car wasn't a daily driver, i'd say go for the S4. but since it is a daily driver, and we're talking about the g35 sedan.. i'd go with the GS. I really like how the GS's were designed.. the old ones looked really plain.. these just look sexy/classy!
