Yea. I was hoping to run low 11's. It's there, just not with the traction issues and me launching like a weenie. The mph is good for it though

So. Felt like the car was down on power. While doing a boost leak test. Found this...now this isn't the problem, but this line does come from a check valve that shouldn't be leaking and def is stuck open...gotta drop the motor to get to it though 😂. Should be good for 100 hp fix

You have to drop the motor to fix the check valve

And that sounds amazing

Sounds like some B5 shit

Wishing you luck .. does the motor / trans / subframe come down as one unit?

Good news, you can drop the motor a few inches, doesn't have to 100% come out. We'll see, i'm not gonna take this project on myself....

I'd guess the 996 is probably the easiest/cheapest 911 to get into? Pure speculation on my part, but I'd guess a 964, 993 & 997 would be a good bit higher, condition equivalent.

Yea. The air cooled stuff is fetching more then the newer water cooled. The 997's had a 6 year turbo run so they are anywhere from 60-100. You can pick up non turbo 996's for $20k. The price on the 996 turbos are starting to climb again. You can find complete basket cases in the 30's but clean well maintained ones are anywhere from $45-65 depending on options and shape.

For me, a 997 for a frequent driver, or a 993 (930) for a toy.

But, in reality, no Porsche for me, because money.
I could probably swing a 944 or early Boxster.

Well done!

Hellcats trap at around 125 .... your 996T is pretty damn quick.

yea, it's quick, by 140 i had about 3-4 cars on him. I'm pretty confident it'd get into low 11's if I wasn't a total ninny launching it....ran a 11.7 @ 12X (need to find time slip...with a 2.1 60 ft, lol). I swear it pulls harder in 4th/5th then 2nd/3rd.

Is there any PCM controlled torque limiting in 1/2? Not sure if that was a thing on 'older' cars like it is in the newer ones. I definitely notice it in my I4T C300, clearly pulls harder in 3/4 than in 1/2.

This car continues to surprise me. Was out with the wife saturday night and on the way home a shiny new gen 4 viper pulled up next to us. "you're gonna race him aren't you, he's probably a lot faster". It was late at night and we had an empty highway. Did 6-7 pulls, gave him the jump on nearly all of them.....same result each time. 1 run i gave him a good 2 second jump from 60....by 150 i was about 1-2 bus lengths in front of him. He was with a buddy in a new M4, both were in shock

probably helped i still had a tank full of 109

I don't know how quick a 4th Gen Viper is but damn, sounds like your car moves out.

The want for a 996T is real.

they run very low 11's and trap 129-133 from what I see. 60-130 time is anywhere from 6.9-7.3

I suspect my 60-130 is very low 6's

I ran a neighbor a few weeks ago in his ZR1 and the results were about the same as the viper

That thing sounds like a blast. I have never been in a 911 turbo but the stories I have heard from those that have say the acceleration is mind blowing.

the new ones are beasts all around. My car is nearly impossible to launch hard without breaking shit. But 4th and 5th gear pull hard as fuck, harder then 2nd and 3rd. The torque band is nearly flat from 2,000 RPM to Redline. It's insane. Their power is very underrated.
