Got a Mazda Tribute

Bought a 2005 Mazda Tribute yesterday to replace my wife's 1994 Honda Passport. Went for the Silver (200hp) V6 (just like my TSX - only my TSX is a 4 cyl of course). Not looking forward to two car payments, but I couldn't pass up the deal. Wish I could have got an Acura, but the MDX was too much $$ for my wallet. I hope the Mazda doesn't let me down...Anyone have one?

I test drove one before, not bad, felt very similar to my parent's Escape.

Sorry, that was harsh. Seriously though, my brother replaced his Ford after 6 months and 3 transmission replacements.

Ya, I know. It makes my head hurt. But then again, I'd take a Ford Mustang Cobra in a heartbeat.

It felt similar because its the exact same thing.

Personally, I would have gone with the CR-V. Same price range, Honda quality...

But, good luck!

The current model CR-Vs are ugly.

Also they are fire traps lol. I just had to say that!

So hondaboy - did you check out the CRV? Altough I have to admit the Tribute looks way better externally ... but that's where it ends.

I've got an 2002 Mazda Tribute. It's been relatively trouble free, but watch out for Mazda service. I swear they seem to break more things than they fix. My main problem has been an airbag light that will not shut off. I've brought it in atleast 5 times, everytime they shut it off but it always comes back. I'm almost certain it has to do with the passenger side airbag, but the dealer doesn't seem to think so; the light only comes on the passenger seat is slide back/forth.

Make sure you check out www.escape-central.com

BTW the Tribute will lose to a 6spd TSX.

Ya, I checked out the CRV, but I couldn't convince my wife - she just didn't like the way it looked. I'm with ya, not much can beat Honda quality/reliability.

He wants us to. That way he can report back to clublexus at how biased we are and that we banned him because he didn't agree with us. You're not fooling anyone sicklex.
