Good point. I would like it white too.

Agreed. The new Subie has chrome door handles that we are not a fan of. Not a fan of black either so I'm curious how hard it is to change them to the body color door handles of the lower trim levels.
Good point too! Will check it out.

Swapping door handles shouldn't be too hard. I looked it up for the 4runner and it seems pretty simple to pop the door card and get to the handles. Going lower-trim was pretty affordable too.

From a distance, those LX handles look similar, and I found it really Toyota-slick, that all the doors are the same P/N. You just flip them upside down for one side or the other. Some of the other bits on the side of the handle are unique though, if you have a keyhole.

In Sam & maybe JS case. You'd have to be sure the lower trim level you're getting (if that's even an option on the LX) has the upper level tech (keyless entry & such).
Not worth losing that to get non-chrome handles, IMO.

The next level down for the Ascent has the keyless entry stuff already, shouldn't be a big deal. I think that the body color bit is just a cover too, don't need the whole handle.

Yeah there's no lower trim. Looked like the chrome parts are removable so I would end up getting them painted or vinyl wrapped.

Ordered the wheels and tires!

They had a special spec for LC and LX. 17x8 +0 offset instead of typical +40, so it looks more aggressive. It's going to be here in 14 weeks so need to wait a bit but can't wait!

Went with Anthracite color.

Drove through some rain for the first time since getting the car. The car is an absolute tank and the funny thing is that the wipers don't make ANY sound when working. It's so weird but thought it was cool. No motor nor swish sound.

Went up to a local mountain to play in snow with kids.. it was slightly icy and snow but mostly pretty clean. The car felt like a tank. This is why I bought this car and was so happy to feel safe with kids in the car!

I added my first modification on the LX last week..

LX gave me 13.3mpg for the last tank. CT gave me 39.4 mpg. A good balance.

Getting a Phone Mirroring system and throttle response controller next weekend! Was waiting on these for awhile but my buddy finally has an opening for installation. Will be getting both installed on the same day.

The LX screen is huge but the infortainment sucks so I've been waiting to install this phone mirroring system.

The car has a plenty of power but it lacks the throttle response. The controller uses the phone app, so it should be fun to play with.

Dropping off my LX to a local roof rack brand called Prospeedrack tomorrow. They are pretty well known for the roof rack and they needed my generation LX570 for product development. I wanted to buy a roof rack to mount a side awning so this was a perfect opportunity. Getting a pretty great discount for it. They are going to have the car for a week.

Can't wait!

It will look like this.

Let me know how these two mods work. Throttle response - what would that do to your MPG and how about the factory warranty? CarPlay - looks awesome. I was debating it as well but not sure i want to take out the entire dashboard for installation.

I don't think it'll affect MPG, it'll just feel better through the go pedal.

Probably attaches to the factory rack mount locations so doubt it would affect the warranty. Also don't think it'll make a difference in the already abysmal gas mileage. Only difference might be more wind noise at speed.

Power Throttle mod: won't affect the warranty since it actually tap into the gas pedal module not OBD2. It's amazing. Much much faster throttle response. And it can lock the throttle or put it on valet mode.

Phone mirroring mod: It's a god send. The stock screen is huge but garbage infortainment. Now I can actually use it every time I drive. It's wireless Smart View Android system so I can play anything on the front screen and rear entertainment screens.

Rack: it's a lowest profile rack on the market. Should be very low wind noise and not much effect on mpg.

Waited 5 months for these wheels to show up!

EVO Corsa Dakar 17x8 +0
Bfg K02 285/70/17

Massaged the inside panel just a little to make room at full lock! No changes in road noise or ride quality. Absolutely love it.

33's up on that sweet ride, nice!

When are we going off roading? Someone will have to bring a Pilot or Ridgeline to pull us out when we get stuck.

Which part?

I do think it's a sweet ride and he does indeed have 33's and I would love to go off roading with him (or anyone really).

Nice!

I started looking into pre-ordering the GX 460. The 2022 has updated infotainment (finally), and if i'm first up, i could get the limited blackline edition (wife really wants that for all black look). GX should be indestructible like the LX. But with the sasquatch Bronco on it's way, I'm not sure if I want two sub 15 mpg vehicles in the stable. This Bronco is severely pissing me off - i've been delayed 4 times now and have a Day 1 reservation. Looks like still a solid 2+ months for delivery (on a 2021 MY). For all I know my truck has been built and is sitting in purgatory with the 1,000+ other broncos waiting for a new hardtop that passes QC. Getting a sneaking suspicion that my 'build date' that keeps getting pushed back is actually corresponding to a 'finalized' build date when the hardtop gets replaced. The sales figures and delivery figures have a big disconnect, and there are hardtop broncos filling up the factory lots

....Maybe the 2022 QX60 is a better bet than the GX. Looks nice....
