Got an 2013 Acura ILX Loaner (with pics!)

Had to get the power steering recall done on my TL-S. This is what they gave me:

Dude, I like your sense of humor.

I like it. Easy to steer. I did not test out how fast it can go because I had the kids in the back seat (as you can tell from the pictures).

The leather is nice. It does not come with side blinkers, TPMS, but I like the rims. It also comes with steering wheel paddle shifters like my TL-S.

Nice. How's the steering feedback, and is there any lag with the accelerator?

Well it is a DBW (drive by wire) 4 cylinder. I didn't step on it, if that's what you mean. The steering feedback is pretty good. I like the easier-to-steer cars. I just wish it had the easier steering on my TL-S.

No problem Ken. If I were to downsize my TL, I would consider this and the TSX. But right now, I'm impartial to six-cylinder-engined cars.

Nice, thanks for sharing!
It looks a LITTLE scaled down in the luxury, but that's to be expected...I dig the pricepoint.

I sat in one at the dealership and was impressed by the interior, you can't tell it's based on a Civic at all. Small thing but I liked the stitched armrests, the A4 makes you buy the prestige package to get those. That being said I already know what I won't like about this car and that is the power (or lack thereof).

Is the interior as cheap/chincy as it looks in the pics, or is it an effect created by the bad lighting?

Thanks. Mainly I meant if there's much lag between pressing the accelerator and the engine's response. I still daily drive a 2000 Accord and, when I'm in some DBW cars--like an Impala I was driving last night--the delay is a little annoying. I was also wondering about the steering feedback. Similar to the throttle response, going from a car in which I can feel what the tires are doing through the steering wheel, especially in rain or snow, to one in which that feel is lacking is disconcerting.

If I'd bought a car ever 3-4 years, I doubt I'd notice, but skipping a decade makes for a pretty big difference.

Edit: Anyone seen Acura's YouTube video for this?
. I will really try not to comment.

Didn't really feel all that cheap.

Am I seeing the interiors colors correct? Two tone tan and darker tan seats, black trim and a dark brown center piece to the steering wheel??? wtf?

rode in one the other day with a friend who was car shopping. I wasn't impressed... one thing about the interior that bothered me was that it felt very "upright"- something I felt made it seem downmarket.

he bought a TSX instead-said it felt more substantial.

The ilx seems to be a nice car & will probably sell well. I just hope they keep the tsx too as it is even nicer.

I heard the ilx has the tap for 3 blinkers which is a feature I really like.

Car looks alright...But could never get over the fact that its a civic in a tux, and you're paying extra dough for that.

GM cars have had this feature for years. I love this feature in my CTS-V to the point that I occasionally mistakenly just tap when in my S2000. Good on Acura to include it.

I like the ILX in general and if I were seriously in the market, I'd add a 2.4 6MT, leased via my business, to the garage.

My challenger has it. Once in a blue moon I tap the jeep or prius out of habit.

Sorry David, just bad pictures and bad lighting. The center steering wheel piece is not brown, it's black. It does have a two-tone tan interior leather trim.

...might be a silly question, but how do you find out if recalls are up to date on a car you purchased used?

Yup, I am whipped, my wife said we had to get the 6mt, she was right, fun to drive, and pretty good gas mileage for being brand new.

Is there a way you can get better pics, Gatr? Or have you turned in the loaner and picked up the TL-S? Recall went a-ok?
