"Glitches"
 

So, I guess everyone by now knows this is where I love to post...

Ok, so my observations are all from my 2007 RDX, but I figure this goes for everyone, because these aren't RDX-only problems...


So, I've had several little glitches in the electrical system of my RDX is recently purchased in late February...

Ok, first thing, my Check SH-AWD, Check Tire Pressure, and somthing else came on the MID twice in the first month of ownership... I even posted a thread in the RDX forum about it..

Second, my idle can be a bit harsh at times, common for a turbo engine, but when putting in into reverse last month, it stalled... It runs smooth, but sometimes bogs when idling...

Third, my Navigation map, said Disc Error last month, did it one drive, never again...

Then last night, I had a check TPMS system light...

Did it all night, then went off on my last or second to last run...

It's probably a weak TPMS sensor battery, but if it never does it again, I won't be surprised...

When I stared it, the Nav screen said something about AcuraLink, I think it was regarding the TPMS issue that has resolved itself...

My other experiences are my 2001 Toyota Camry not starting on two cold mornings, need throttle held open until it warmed up a bit...

My 2007 Kia Sportage making an awful sound when slowing down for a left turn, about four years ago...

The brake pedal went hard, and it make a deep vibrating grinding sound... I guess the tranny and the computer had a little disagreement on what they should be doing... Never did it again... But in the last year I had it, it would throw random CELs, tinting over-advanced as an impending code, plus I had a homemade intake...

Now, I know someone with an ES300 making a random beeping when driving...

I've just been thinking about this lately...

What's happened to you all?

Are you asking us to list all the problems we've had?

I'm just asking for opinions on fixing any of these problems, better understanding what could have caused them, and learning what other people have experienced...

Just having an open discussion about this kind of issue...

Would you think it would be prudent to put RDX issues in an RDX thread, and then perhaps go to the Toyota forums for Toyota problems...?

This isn't really just an RDX issue, it's more accross the board...

For the Toyota, I am on a forum, but haven't used it in years, and I hate the website, not easy to navigate...

Does any of this sound like something you have experienced?

Replace your battery

it just sounds like you haven't done any homework and want us to spoon feed you. That's about it. :shrug:

It's new, I think the lady who had it before us put it in late last year...

Make sure all your cables are tight and not corroded. or test your alternator too.

I just want to find out what other people have experienced...

More like, are these little electrical glitches normal in Acuras...

I find loaded/equipped and luxury vehicles tend to do this a lot, or is it just because it's new...

I'm not very worried, I think to myself, that warning will turn itself off as three warnings done four different times now...

Not to mention, when it stalled, it said check battery... But started right up again...

Maybe I need new spark plugs... Can't do that myself with the intercooler in the way...

I'll have it done with the next big maintenance, probably at 200,000...

If only there was a place where you could look up issues related to your 2007 RDX....

something like a forum of Problems and Fixes specifically for that car...

I checked them last moth when I had the hood open, they felt tight, and no signs of corrosion...

Altinator, now that's more interesting...

I just don't get why it stalled, and gets rough and bogs when idling, it seems to do it with the A/C compressor...

Never thought of that...

I haven't been in the RDX forums in a while, and I don't really read the stickies...

do some reading. you'll find that all of your problems have been solved before .

Come to think of it, if we're just free-forming ideas in random places, I have an observation of a funny behavior in my car lately.

It seems like lately when I go out to my car after work and get in it to go home, it's very hot. Hot enough that I'll start sweating after closing the door and before starting the car. It never used to do this before, and it's been getting progressively worse over the last few months, maybe since like April.

Do you think there might be a heat leak somewhere? Or maybe the heater is stuck on during the day and making the car hotter inside? I'll probably bring it up when I'm at the dealer on Friday getting my washer fluid filled up (it ran out again which has happened once before - I'm getting a little sick of it really).

Your problem is a little different.. I bet on your way to work, you turned on the A/C right? Well when you get to work the A/C system claims all the cold air back so that when you get back in your car it'll have enough 'cold air' to force back on you. Next time try this: on your way in, blast the heater (ON FULL) with all the windows closed. That way when your car is sitting at work, the system will reclaim all the heat back in and when you get in the car after work it theoretically should be ice cold.
