It still wont compare...335 is lighter, handles better, better 0-60, better 1/4th, higher top end, and gets almost the same gas milage...

However, I've read that the G37s interior puts the 3seriese to shame

just becasue it has 30hp less, doesnt mean it performs anywhere near the 335 sport or non sport pagkace.

Maybe I'm not an "enthusiast" but after sitting in both, there is no comparison between the 335i and the is350 in terms of interior quality. Besides the Lexus has all the power I'll ever need and is almost certainly more reliable in the long run. That Bimmer sure does drive good though....
Design quality and material quality are different. The IS350's design is better than the BMWs. The ergonomics are much better. The material quality of the BMW, however, is better than the IS on almost every front. From trim to dash to controls to center stack to seat backs to door inserts, to headliner, to seats to carpets to even the plastic instrument panels. The only thing I can think of off the top of my head that's materially better in the IS are the gauges.

Don't get me wrong, some of the shit going on in the 335i interior is whacky; the cup holders, the placement of the windor controls, the hvac controls, the steering wheel buttons; all crazyness; but the material quality is the best in it's class.

See, I disagree. I find the materials in the Lexus to be much more pleasing in appearance and feel compared to the BMW. The leather in the Bimmer is so course and hard compared to the baby-smooth and soft leather in the IS. I also much prefer the solid feel of the switchgear in the Lexus center stack to that of the 335. It all works out to personal preference though....

all I read was blah, blah, blah.

Honestly, if you are deciding on these two cars test drive them yourself.

I tell you what, if I were to get one of these cars you would not see me dogging it out to see what it is capable of doing.

That's cool. I was talking more about durability, longevity, and quality though.

I'd have taken the 335i easily over the Lexus. The Lexus' styling is much sexier but in every other way that I immediately think of the Bimmer is superior.

On the flip side I'd take a new S4 in the modern market. Interior blows them away, it looks great, drives great, and has a fantastic powertrain.

They're so over priced though, the si models that is.

Like what, roughly 50 grand base? The M3 coupe is only five grand more!

This is true. It is an unnecessary model, IMHO.
