If they tank like all other Hyundai's they will be a steal in a year or two... assuming they are reliable, I imagine these will be expensive to repair.
More on topic, I like the Genesis, but for MSRP I'll pass way too many other cars that are proven and more my style then this luxury boat! But hey, we are all different.

Except you wont find any of those at the price of the Genesis with equal options. I would also ask that you check the maintenance that will be due on those other competitors as oppose to the genesis. BMW has quietly addresses those issues because it was one of there biggest faults

The others wouldn't or shouldn't come up in the first 50k miles

Its good but I sure its captioned in some of the 15k-20k cost of what would be for an equally equipped Genesis.
Acura is not even in the picture on this one.

You guys pick on its deprecation but i dont see Audi being that good either. I was out looking at a few year old A8s over the weekend that normally sticker in the 85k range now in the mid to low 30k with low miles. Not exactly holding their value.

I remember a year or two ago reading an article that stated the A8 W12 was the worst depreciating vehicle losing a little over $56K the first year.

you can get a genesis v8 well below 40k now. basically you can always buy a hyundai 3-5k below msrp. not the new ones, but whenever they start giving out rebates. i bought my santa fe SE for 21.5 k OTD 8 months after initial launch. i saved over 5 grand!

It's like people garaging their devilles for the winter. 
I agree that $42,000 isn't cheap but a luxury Hyundai sedan that loses depreciation at the rate that it does is NOT a vehicle that is meant to be a "Sunday" driver. That car can be had for just a bit over 39K today and will lose about $15K in the first year/15K miles. In your case, it would have lost all that money collecting dust in the garage.

A lot of 05 and 06 models are going for a hair under 30k right now. I absolutely miss that car 
although I wish I would have gotten the short wheelbase version.

I was just out again looking at a 06 A8L with just about every option for 28k with 32k on the odo. Its at a dealer and i know i can get them a little lower.

but but but audi's aren't reliable with no 100k warranties. A8s are one of the most unreliable car you can buy. it's a bitch to fix those things. and depreciation is far worse than genesis! imagine that!
and 375hp > 330 hp
