Which is why it only makes sense to just buy the GT350 since it was never facelifted.

Not to mention a glorious flat-plane crank V8....

:werd:

Facelift looks bad.

Majofo 04-15-2019 03:08 PM

Gross..
Oil consumption on the GT350 crazy.. hard pass

00TL-P3.2 04-15-2019 03:09 PM

^ Yet.
Probably be like the Raptor & carry on the prior face for a year or two. Or the GT350 gets dropped rather than the new face :dunno:

You the type of guy who thinks a Focus SE is "fun".

Fuck oil burning, open the exhaust valves and turn money into noise.

I'm with you on this. The new front end is kinda derpy looking.

For those of you wondering, there is a literal money fire in the back of Maj's car.

FFS, fix your TPMS

Majofo 04-17-2019 03:31 PM

Pffft... 20 PSI or die

Not sure that's something to be gloating about lol.

That said, if you drive the Golf hard, it'll do like 10-12mpg. If you cruise for a long time, it does 32-35mpg. I'd call that winning.

So...you're choosing die then?

No, I'm choosing 20 PSI, I thought I made this abundantly clear

cu2wagon 04-17-2019 04:39 PM

I run my tires at 48 psi. So cosmically, it balances.

Life maintained

Majofo 04-17-2019 04:42 PM

48 up front, 20 in the rear, 5 in the face, 10 in the ass
cul0 fucks

ttribe 04-17-2019 05:19 PM

Good grief, Maj, my M5 would be down around 10-12 around town, and that's a thirsty NA V10. Are you just running WOT from gas station to gas station?

Majofo 04-17-2019 05:33 PM

I live my life a quarter mile at a time :chuckle:

My brodie was visiting
I'm on E and I filled up the night before

That's why at a quarter tank the V won't give you range

Btw.. I still love the e60 M5 and my feed always shows new content on it. They're pretty much all vids of cautionary tales.

Majofo 04-17-2019 06:14 PM

My fave was one guy who did a swap on a bricked M5
It sounds simple, his journey was not :chuckle:
I think he settled somewhere around 15k after everything

Majofo 04-17-2019 06:20 PM

Here's the update vid

Uggh. Great car when it's running. But, SO MANY scary stories!

I think E60 M5/M6 probably is the best sounding BMW ever. Especially with aftermarket exhaust...

Agreed. Unfortunately it sits silent most of the time because it's broken.

That is why when you see one, it breaks your neck. Per Acura's logic, Exclusivity FTW.

CCColtsicehockey 04-23-2019 04:25 PM

Anyone have experience with the Dunlop Dirrezza Ziii? Almost about to pull the trigger on a set but curious if anyone has any first hand experience with them.

justnspace 04-23-2019 04:37 PM

I waas rockin' the star specs way back when....the way i see it, a different version, or 3.0, there would be improvements in tire tech. namely the rubber compound and tread blocks

RPhilMan1 04-24-2019 04:35 PM

Speaking of tires, as I'm getting ready to put my summer set on, I'm in need of new summer tires as the PSS are getting low. I'm looking to get the new Pilot Sport 4S in 245/40/R18. Looks like they are $222 each on both Discount Tire and Tire Rack.

I've had the Pilot Sport 4S on my car for five months. They're nice tires.

So I'm finally moving on from the Blackfire Wet Diamond paint sealant I've used for years. What's the new best one to use? I have a silver car and two dark(ish) blue ones.

Costco 05-14-2019 04:28 PM

Back at my old building now. Seems like the guy who daily'd the 570 now dailies a 600LT.

Must be nice /mizouse

Man, BFWD used to be the go-to here for years. Have you looked at some consumer-grade ceramic coatings?

I know! It was (is?) awesome and a great finish, just curious what the go to is these days.

I've looked into them but not ready to take that plunge yet. If I'm going to do the ceramic coating, I'd get it professionally done. No need to have me F it up.

Majofo 05-20-2019 08:28 AM

Ceramic coating is bullshit
:io:

Cost wise, I think the professional coatings are bullshit. Most professionals charge around $1300 to do it. They say it lasts 5-7 years, but I have a hard time believing that. Also, you should use a specific soap to maintain the ceramic coat. With that said, the consumer line is a bit more worth while in my opinion. If you're comfortable polishing a car, then you should have no problem applying the coating. Something like CQuartz UK is around $100 to coat a car. Theoretically, CQuartz says the coating is good for 2 years, which is less then the pro line, but its also costs $1200 (on average) less. You can recoat with the consumer line every year for 10 years and still pay less then the pro coating that - theoretically - lasts 7 years.

I've had my car coated for 13 months with the consumer line product. I wash it using their soap, which is around $27 for a bottle. I use a 1:9 soap:water mixture and it lasts me around 15 washes. I've not recoated the car in that time at all, but water still beads like it did early on, and - most importantly in my opinion - the car is way easier to clean as the dirt and grime just rinses off the paint. It's amazing on wheels as well, since brake dust just wipes off.

The biggest misunderstanding I see on forums is that people think ceramic coating will protect from scratches and rock chips. Get PPF if you're looking for that level of protection. Think of ceramic coating as harder clear coat.
