959 would be out-accelerated by most exotics today. while it's 1/4 mile time of 11.9 @ 116 was certainly not slow (and very fast for its heyday) - it would be walked pretty handily by supercars of today.
edit: I will always love the 959.

Countach seems "ok" to me still. I mean, I would rock one lol. Agreed on the 959, used to love that car as a kid but now it just looks, weird.
good seeing you around West6MT!
that 'upgraded' Tesla interior looks decent. there's a video review on autoblog, that I haven't had a chance to look at yet. I think its tough because it's difficult for us to not compare the car to existing cars. And the fact is, its not going to look the same as a regular car, just because it doesnt have a large number of accessory controls that a gas-powered vehicle has. I just wish they would have tried to make the interior look a little more 'modern'.

Since Corvettes are being talked about,..........I friggen want one. One of my best friends works for GM, and he brings cars by every-so-often for me to check out. Earlier this year he brought up a grand sport, and I loved it. I was worried I would hate the clutch/manual, but it was actually pretty good. I got used to it and was pretty smooth by the end of my 'test drive.' The sound and power had me hooked, and I gave up caring about the cheap interior after about 5 seconds of being in the car. I am lusting after a used ZO6, but that's not in the cards for me at the moment sadly. At least I have my dad's e39 M5 to rip around in when I need some V8 power/noise.

I really like the new McLaren...great looking with great engineering.
Same here. Sadly, when I first saw it, I knew exactly what episode it was from. Still, I enjoy it. Thankfully he hasn't changed this one as quickly as he usually does

I forgot to mention the handling for both cars mentioned in my post.
Also - F40, original McLaren, and the 959 = (although the 959 does look a little weird to me now I must admit)

I am in no way saying I don't like how it looks. I still love it. Just that compared to current cars, it looks a bit weird.

Teodoro Nguema Obiang Mangue (born c.1971, nicknamed Teodorín) is the son of Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo, the president of Equatorial Guinea, by his first wife, Constancia Okomo. He currently serves as the Minister of Agriculture and Forestry in his father's government. He drew criticism from the international media for spending close to R10,000,000 over a weekend in South Africa on champagne, property renovations, a black 2004 Bentley Arnage, a cream 2005 Bentley Continental R from MG Rover Cape Town and a 2005 Lamborghini Murcielago,[1] although the properties may soon be forcibly auctioned due to his failure to pay a South African businessman.[2]American law enforcement officials believe that most or perhaps all of his wealth comes from corruption connected to oil and gas reserves in Equatorial Guinea.[3]

It never ceases to amaze me at the people who have that much ill-gotten money yet can't seem to keep a low profile. You can still have your toys without attracting attention. Morons.

Can anyone tell me what cars currently have pop up door locks?
I had to borrow my dads car (02 RL) to take my nephews to a baseball game over the weekend.
My youngest nephew says "oh cool the old style door locks"
I had him explain what he meant as I never thought about it before. Then couldnt think of a car today that has them. hmm

I hear you on the Vettes, I would love having a Z06 myself.. the thing that bugs me about the car though is I love open-air type motoring.. I need a targa ideally. or a sunroof or panoramic roof or something of that nature. It would bug me driving with a closed top.
nice on the E39 m5!
nice on the E39 m5!
If you could deal with less power, the grand sport comes in targa or vert I believe. Maybe add some power mods? I never thought about the ZO6 being closed top (coupe). I guess that would be ok,...I'd probably never have the roof down/off on a car if I had that option anyway.
My line of thinking on a vette was,.................Man, I need this car (grand sport after driving it),....................hmmm, ZO6 = more power and faster,.......I must have one!!!

nice hearing more about the M5
I can't do a regular Vette, I need the wide-body flares on the Z06. I don't think I would do the ZR1 even if I could swing it, just because of the cost of those brakes! I only recently found out that the rear brakes are the same as the front brakes on an Enzo and the fronts are the same as the front brakes on an Enzo FXX. uh yeah, $$$$$$$$ to replace.

edit - haha Crazy said the same thing.
Damn all this corvette talk, it makes me want one even more. Ugh, if only I could get one right now.

A car I drove recently and thought was pretty nice was the Buick Lacrosse. Interior is nice, but you would want the navi to get rid of the lame looking pixel display in non-navi models. The car seemed to ride well, and felt very comfortable. It seemed decently responsive etc. Auto trans seemed fine, but I hate auto and never drive an auto car,......so I cant really comment on it being good or not. I quite like the exterior, and the red one I drove looked really good.
Ok that was a pretty random post,......I should get to bed.

Someday, an RS6 Avant+
The Maseratti is
I'm still smitten with the good ole' Testarossa.
For an 80's era car, it still has drop dead good looks, IMO.
