I hate to say it, but you won't find that article - it never happened. The last comparison that I remember that included the IS300 in Car and Driver was with the G35, TL, 325i, A4, and Saab 9-3. It came in 4th in that comparo behind the TL - mainly for lack of power.

Sizing falls into the same category as the TSX in my opinion. With an I6 engine, RWD, and other luxury items, it falls into the same category price and option wise as those mentioned above though. If your looking at engine performance, it has decent torque, but runs out of steam pretty quick. [Remember - only in the last 2 years or so (other than the TL-S) has the HP in this group been much higher than 215hp.] Handling is exquisite in the IS.

My wife has an IS300 and I drive it often. It is smaller than the G35, and I think that makes it significantly more fun to drive (ditto with the TL). It's more tossable, and the steering feels sharper. However, as I mentioned above, it is small and the engine output doesn't compare to the TL or G35.

I would guess based on the fact that we bought an IS300 pretty much loaded for about $30g back in 02 that you could get one for a pretty good deal now. When I priced the G35 back when I bought my TL last year, they weren't able to come close to $30g with any significant options.

I remember that article. I also believe the IS is geared better for highway romps. I think the TSX = IS300 from a dig but on the highway, the IS300 would pull.
