Fuzzy's 300SRT8 thread
I traded my CLS6 this weekend. After considering a few cars I decided on a 07 Chrysler 300C SRT8. It was in the same price range/mileage as the other small cars I looked at. But this car was the only one that had a 6.1L 425HP V8 stock!!!
I admit I was not considering it but when I drove it I could not believe how the car felt. It seemed to fit me like a glove. The seats, driving position & the power was absurd. The handling was not even bad for a big car. It didn't drive like a big car. Yeah it has a auto trans & REALLY wanted a manual, but this auto isn't bad, AND....
For $333 I can buy a predator tuner & not only tweak the car & gain 20-25HP but also change shift points, firmness & all sorts of things. Yeah I have 1 on order already.
I'm pretty happy with the car. It's interior is basic & simple just how I like it. There was so much clutter in the G37's/370's I saw. The car is also easy to work on. Nothing is squeezed into the engine bay & most everything is easy to get to.
Check out the black market in the next week I will be listing a bunch of things for sale including a few rare items you 2nd gen CL guys may want.

Nice pick up! I like the mesh grille, but IMO would look better powder coated black. Are you planning on doing other mods besides the power programmer? The cat-back systems sounds so good with the hemi and arent that bad on price. If you do all that and an intake you will be suprised at the power gains. My buddy had all 3 on his 5.7 Charger and it was unreal at the power you can make for less than a grand.

Nice. I have those on my narrowed down list of possible vehicles.

On the SRT8's the exhaust is pretty good. The restriction is in the cats/mid pipe. Anything else will just make more noise.
Yeah I hate the chrome grill too. I already ordered a black one.
Prices I saw were between $23K-$29K used from 07-08 models depending on mileage. I picked mine up for $25K with 29K miles.
The cool thing I still can't get over is with the programmer the car will do 13 flat in reported 1/4 mile times from other owners.

Congrats! Was considering one locally before I got the MS6. Gas mileage scared me. I'm sure it's a monster though!

Wow, no one saw that coming. Not even you I really the SRT-8, both the 300C and the Charger; especially black. Good thing you're getting rid of that grille. It really takes away from the sportiness of the car.
I'm sure more pictures are forthcoming. Congratulations.

Sick car, I love pretty much all SRTs. Really, really tempted to get a SRT Jeep.
Blacked out with some 20" 5-spokes from the SRT Jeep and it'll be money.
20MPG average!? No way man. You'll be lucky to get 18-19 on the highway.

Look on forums. You can get a predator for near $240-270. That's about what I paid for mine.

You can also find A Lot of mods for goods prices on the forums. I also have some shops that specialize in these engines.
As much fun as my 6 speed is...the reality is the autos are actually faster...at least at the drag strip.
