First Car - 8thGen Civic
First, English is not my first language, so pardon me if I make a mistake.
I joined Acurazine in 2013 because of how obsessed and in love I was with the 3G TL. I almost swore to myself that it was gonna be my first car. I kid you not, I even had a wish list prepared which included the A Spec kit, Forgestar F14s, coilovers, etc. for when I bought it by working 5 days a week and around 8 hours a day earning 9 bucks an hour (This was all in my head before I really started working and realizing how hard that was going to be lol I was around 14-15). Fast forward to December of 2016, I bought with the help of my dad a 2006 Honda Civic EX with leather, and navigation, sunroof, 4 disc brake. I felt a baller with the hottest and most spec'd out civic of its time.
Don't have a pic of when I first bought it but I do of when I did the 2009 front end swap. I replaced the bumper, upper grill, lower grill and H emblem.
Old galaxy note 3 pics
Then Installed fogs from ebay.

It stayed like that for a while. I Installed 2 12s subs with a 1600 watt amp that I have no pics of.
I installed a coilover sleeve. Essentially just a lowering spring with a coil on the bottom for adjustability.
I did the rear first which took, around 4-5 hours.
by
I had to leave the fronts for another day since the rear itself took me 4-5 hours.
Surprisingly though, the front were sooo much easier to do.
I took off the rubber boot that I left on top an hour after that.
A week after I found a set of wheels on craigslist. Messaged the owner and the next day after I went to pick it up during my break from work.
by
They are Motegi SP10 18x8 +40, 225 40 18. Very safe specs but its my first set of wheels so I love them.
Cleaning them up.
Got the hub centric rings after going to 5 different stores, and installed them right away.
by
Wish the rears were wider but I can add a spacer.
by
2 days after the front passenger tire lost air and was totally flat. Took it to a tire shop and they found a crack.
80 bucks later and the car was back on the road.
Ever since I bought the wheels I knew I wanted it in white. A trip to home depot and 25 dollars later, My friend and I started spraying the white Plastidip.
Soon after

Some may like it or hate it but I love them. And its plastidip so I can just yank it off if I want the original color back.
As it stands now
Any criticism is accepted and I know that installing cheap coilover sleeves is a waste but I wanted to be low in the meantime while I saved up for real coilovers, hopefully some buddy club n+.

Great progress so far!
I think it's at a great point now. I wouldn't do much more

The car looks good, you've made quite a bit of progress!
Not sure if you're a member or not, but there is an 8th Gen Civic forum as well! You can find it here: 8thCivic.com - 8th Generation Honda Civic Forum
8th Civic can be pretty slow sometimes, but I'm sure the guys on there would appreciate it too!
Looking forward to seeing the next mod!

Thanks and I know, its a mess. I tried to fix it but I cant edit it.
Thank you Tyler, I appreciate it. Loved your WDP btw.
Thanks buddy!
I know its honestly kind of silly but I like it hahaha
Thank you very much, that was my plan.
Now im Just saving up for an AC compressor which mine went out but I thought I had tested it when we bought it but its typical in hondas of these years for these compressors to go out. For now, beach status, with lowered windows.

Nice work and reminds me of my first car and all the projects I did; great to see the younger generation still working on their cars themselves.
Keep it going but like the others said, your shocks are in for a world of hurt

Awesome, great to hear these success stories. Also, thanks for making me feel old.
Next time you work on springs...please don't use a bench vise to compress them. It could take off your arm. Many auto part stores will rent you a compressor for free.

Thanks Man
Thanks Sam! And also thanks for the tip, I will keep that in mind from now on, I just used that since it was the only type of compressorish lying around.

Right, so after plastidipping the wheels white, I wanted to have tire letters vinyls or such. So I did some research and found that most people I've seen have used what is called "Sharpie White Marker stick." So I bought one and applied it to the tire letter and such. Result was quite awesome. It does flake off if you dont apply the right quantity of white chalk. But I love the way it looks. I just cant stop staring at them.
Enjoy
