https://www.theretrofitsource.com/

has done some AMAZING retrofits on the taco or the f150... The larger housings make it a retrofitter's DREAM.. you can put basically ANY projector in there...

Hmm, I'd love for their site to show some more examples than the three in their header. Some side-by-side, etc.

Also, this thread might need a title update. Minivan done, Truck Yeah! ?

Congrats on the Van. Are you looking to keep it to 150k-200K miles, or is it a short term purchase?

Problem is is most every aftermarket headlight uses craptastic at best projectors. Projector brand/type make a HUGE difference in output, width, color, cutoff, some are good at low beams some arent but are good at high beams and vice versa. Your best bet if you want to keep your oem headlights intact is to get the aftermarket headlights and purchase a good set (or 2) of projectors and retrofit them into those.

That can be achieved. Every time i have to drive a car or ride in a car that doesnt have a good projector i kringe. Even in those that others that think are good. My wife hates driving/riding in anything other than her Explorer now that she has seen the light.

That's what I've been seeing in the F150 Forum. I think one guy retrofitted D2S 4.0 into the housings I'm looking at, a few good comparison shots between the 2.

Yeah TRS' in-house Morimoto projectors are ridiculous value for the bang.. If you don't want to cut open the factory headlights and want to use them for later, do what fatty suggested and buy some DEPO or other aftermarket F150 headlights, crack them open, throw some D2S 4.0 projectors and a XB35/55 ballast with some Osram CBI's... omggg

You can get some switchback halos and the shroud of your choice to make it extra special TRS sells F150 specific led here: https://www.theretrofitsource.com/13...f150-cdrl.html and they' look pretty damn cool too! I'd take those over halos for your purpose.

^ Knows his stuff. This right here is what i would recommend. The new D2S 4.0s are great projectors, and you cant go wrong with TRS stuff

I quit the book o' face this week, so I'm not seeing a whole lot. The one Taco I saw looked pretty good.

Van has been great. Going to keep it until our kids start moving out probably.

Had a tire go flat in March, the night before a trip. Threw a used tire on it and it lasted six more months. Just put a full set of four on them with new sensors, it's been the only expenditure outside of oil. Need to give it a good wash and clay before winter sets in, but this year is supposed to be mild and dry so no big rush.

These are what I'm considering.

Then retrofit the D2S 4.0 in for at least the low beams.

D2S top, aftermarket stock bottom:

And keep the OE as a backup/just in case.
