And this all leads to the point of why people are leaving Acura. All of us at one point wanted the vehicle for whatever reason, but now the car has changed to the point it appeals to none of us. I mean, the TLX is alright to look at, has alright features, and the price is , ok. Nothing about it makes me want to run to a dealer and get one.
Kind of like the girl in class who looks acceptable, you hear her talk and she is not dumb, but you just kind of look at her and think, meh This might work out. But you don't feal any real passion. Now, the Italian exchange student with the raven eyes, a body that makes you look twice, and an accent you trip over, that is what you want to be with (the car that exudes sex but costs a lot). Think Audi/BMW
But then there is this other girl. She is nice to look at, has this way about her. Her manerisms get your curiosity going, and she is built pretty well too. That is where Acura used to be..... She transferred to Lexus State college and is out of your grasp.
Sound familiar?

Safety Car
Dear Acura,
We want a car with the body of Pippa Middleton and the brains of Judy Resnik -- with a chassis that changes direction like Maria Sharapova and obeys our commands like Linda Lovelace.

That, and make a Sport Hybrid version of every car.
After three months with the Sport Hybrid, I frankly don't care that this car lacks a V8 or RWD. I love the "luxury minimalist" interior. This car can be driven hard and it is seriously fast....scarily fast with instant torque on tap at most legal speeds. All it needs, frankly, is a "light my fire" exterior design, software updates for the navi (we have interface glitches that are mostly fixed in the TLX), an MSRP about 3-5k less and some marketing, and it will sell better. This car, as good as it is, is dead to the market, however. It's really too bad.
I will restate my opinion that if Acura is not serious about the mid-luxury game, they should exit it and allow the TLX to be the the top Acura sedan.Yeah, that'd be awful for them, but it would allow for a TLX-S with features that formerly would have started on a flagship sedan.

I have a TLX loaner for the day, I'll post up some 24 hour impressions tomorrow but I have a feeling that they won't be too different from my test drive impressions.

I was reading an auto week review the other day regrading the TLX.
Its boring on the outside, its meh on the inside...the V6 is meh.
But the raved about the FWD 4cyl model...they went as far as to say it reminded one of Acuras heyday with GSRs and Type SHs...
That is saying something....but they still said the styling was blah. And again, thats been my real beef.

Overall my review doesn't change. It's a good car, not a bad one. The V6 has mediocre at best fuel economy. Toys are good to have but nothing all that special these days, a top level Focus has most of them. The interior is blah, the seats are good though. Oh and the infotainment system...is infuriating. I have to literally press the screen three times to turn on my heated seat...WTF?
The V6 is quick but it doesn't seem that way, the PAWS does work but is, IMO, a cop out for shitty chassis engineering. There's no drama in the car, it doesn't feel special, it doesn't feel cool, you don't think you look like a badass in the car, and the exterior is about as bland as a Civic LX.
Headlights are epic though.

Stop it. You're going to hurt the TLX guys feelings.
