esco115's 2012 Maxima SV...

Hello fellas! Back in November I purchased 2012 Maxima SV Sport package with just about every option.

Few weeks ago I sold my TL as I just wasn't attached to it as I once were.

This is my progress thread to all the little things I have done to it since purchase.

I can do a review for whoever needs one but there are a few on the 3g TL and 4g TL sub-forums.

When I first took her home without a decision...

Decided to keep her and my first mod red GTR push start

Painted the calipers before rust be the next color.. lol

Added dark ass tints...

Yellow Fogs to compliment the factory HIDs...

Right before I sold the TL

My last mod(s) intake spacer, TB spacer and K&N drop in...

I also debadged the MAXIMA and dealer signs after I bought it...

Next might be either springs or exhaust not sure yet...

Thanks guys its a slow process right now as time is limited for me.
The steering cover is so I don't fuk up the leather learned my lesson with the TL. Each its own type thing.

It is a bigger car with tremendous trunk space! However, the interior is slightly bigger, hard to even tell compared to the TL's.

I actually fell in love with the CVT that was the selling point honestly... lol Just have to learn how to use it and it'll be your friend.

Added Block-Off Plates to eliminate V.I.A.S

For the ones that dont know what this mod do, it makes the tq better thru out the rpms and still manage to gain hp/tq.

(Hope I dont need to go to Nissan for any engine work... )

The thing I hate the most about the car is the CVT. So.....Blah.

Live in the country basically locks are not needed just yet... Hell I didn't have wheel locks on my TL-S and been all over the place with it even in NYC, Bronx, L.I, Brooklyn, no issues whatsoever...

Nice, I have a 2010 Maxima, the difference between ours are the tail lights, and also I have CF trim from the factory around the HVAC and shifter, which it appears you have an aluminum trim. Nice car, decent oomph too, I haven't modded, but it's a good car. Only real gripe is that the suspension is a tad floaty, although I'm biased because I love my coilover setup on my Genesis Coupe.

thats not the only difference but its the only thing ppl notice as its the most obvious cue... I have the sport version so the car is stable, just not as sporty as it should be

SV Sport has rear bucket seats, SV Premium has the panaroma roof

To each their own, but doesn't the 3G TL have as much interior space as the Maxima?

Same opinion here. Couldn't see myself enjoying it what so ever.
And the rpm staying at one spot wwhile accelerating was getting on my nerves

I thought that was the case for the 6th gen as well.

It's a shame because having a manual in this car would be fun. My parents have a '95 SE and I always wished they would have gotten a manual.

2004-2006 Maximas had a 5AT, but I read about some problems with them (When I got my Infiniti last year, a guy at the desk next to us said the trans in the 2005 he bought a month ago then had gone out. He ended up leaving in a Murano). Then in 2007, Nissan refreshed the look of the Maxima and also gave it the CVT for the "6.5" gen.

So the 2004-2006 was the 6th gen and the 7 gen started in 2007 and is still around now? I don't remember the '04 and above models having a manual, guess they were just that rare.

04-06 = 6th Gen
07-08 = 6.5 Gen
09-11 = 7th Gen
12-13 = 7.5 Gen

I want to correct somethings really quick or add... early 04's came with 4at eventually these give problems but after high miles... then late 04-06 had the 5at trouble makers but are also available 6spd...

07-08 Nissan put CVT as the only tranny and kept it that way... but the 07-08 CVT is different from the 09-12.
