It's a longroof, but not a Vagon or MB AMG. Bit more pedestrian, I suppose. Just waiting on everything to be finalized with the bank & dealer.

FFSKurt got it right. Venetian Red Outback Limited.

A Burban would've been nice, but the gas guzzler wouldn't have been.
Thought about a 2nd Flex, but it's nearly as thirsty.

Nice! Looks like a 2017 or 2018? Did you get the 6 cylinder? Why the quick change from the Benz?

2017 H4 with EyeSight. Venetian Red on Black.
My 2nd red car in a long-ish line of whites, silvers & grays, with a couple greens & a gold thrown in the mix.
Pretty surprised with it being pretty peppy, especially after being used to the torquey 2.0T in the MBZ.
They have an identical 3.6R, but priced higher than I wanted to go.
Loved the Mercedes, but the running costs were getting to me a bit. It was due for another set of tires (would've been it's 3rd in under 2 years, including the set on it when purchased).
The creaking from the sunroof anytime you used it, fogging from the windshield, slight front suspension rattle that the dealer couldn't locate, and the auto-stop had stopped working. Probably could've gotten it all resolved under the CPO warranty, but that expires in June, and I didn't want to get saddled with a surprise repair out of warranty.
Coincidentally, my grandmother is thinking about selling her S550 as well, but the though of maintaining the TTV8 is a no-go. And, what she owes is more than I'd want to get into.

FYI, had a relative's C-Class that wouldn't start a few weeks ago. Changed the battery and it ended up fixing her auto stop/start that had suddenly stopped working 6 or so months ago.
Somehow the car gets a reading of the battery's condition.

Sounds like a similar issue with some Aflas...they get an auto start/stop warning...new battery and boom, fixed.

IIRC, the W205 has an auxiliary battery/capacitor behind the center stack for the auto-stop. Might've been that going bad, as the car still cranked at full strength.
I wasn't overly concerned with that part not working, apart from something being wrong with the car.

Glad you got out of the Benz and hopefully got a good pay out for it! 3 sets of tires in 2 years is nuts! Do you drive a lot or what? Also, I can't help but say that this would have been a prime opportunity to snag that GTI...
Alfa? Issues? No way...

The GTI would've been fun, but wanted something bigger that wasn't going to fuel.
Technically, it was 2 sets of tires. The OE (new at purchase) tires only lasted 16k & were on the wear bars (squirrely over 50mph on wet roads). Current Bridgestones are getting close on the rears. Apparently not uncommon on the W205 to eat the rears.

GTI doesn't chug gas...probably better on it than the subie. Well at least if you stay off the skinny pedal. Golf R doesn't do a whole lot better around town than the Wrangler...but that's mostly my fault lol.

Deal fell apart in finance, too far apart between trade value & what we owe. Depreciation is a bitch, got the car for a good deal, didn't expect it to outrun the pmts.
The hunt continues.

Couple of fellas here got good offers from Carvana and others eSellers.. might want to see what they'd offer.

May look into that. We have a Carvana & TX Direct Auto here in Houston & from what I've seen/heard, their offers are a lot better than Carmax.

I think it was @JS + XES who got a good offer from Carvana.. like he had equity in his car from them.. but Vroom offered him 500 or 1k more.
Super easy too.. give you offer, you say yes, administrative shit.. bring a flatbed over and cart her away.

I think Alfa (not Alpha) David got something like that for his Dodge as well.
I can't lie...I think your disdain for my browns is equal to mine for your choice of burgundy.
Dude, Austin that I bought blue back from got a GTI and is getting nearly 40 mpg on his
commute out of a tuned 2.0T. How much do you "need" more space or is it just a want
thing?
The hunt is the fun part, don't rush it and end up in some burgundy grandma's car your TTV8
Grandma wouldn't even drive!

Are you buying the Subie from a Subaru shop? They might not be giving you the highest amount because they'll just toss it up for auction immediately. Can't imagine they'll hold a Benz on the lot.

Local large Subaru dealer. They've got 2 W205s on the lot, but they're lower miles & newer MY, but much lower spec.
Will put a set of tires on the C & keep on driving for a bit. Both Carvana & TX Direct Auto were just a bit more than the offer I got from the Sub dealer, so still a no-go there.
Maybe, if we get bonuses at work, something can happen, but may just stick with the MBZ for a while longer. It's still a great car, just need to get a few little irritations addressed while still in CPO.

That she is. 7 S classes since '89
89 420SEL
95 S420
01 S430
05 S430 - Wrecked & traded after repair
07 S550 - Sold
14 S550 - Flooded by Harvey
15 S550 - Bought CPO
The 15 was the only one bought used.
AFAIK CPO transfers, but even PP sale is less than what I'd need, but a couple K. Not impossible, but less likely.
My grandmother is wanting to sell her S, as she's just not driving much anymore & her building has a car service, but she's pretty upside down on hers too, too much to break even.

Nah, bought the Ody brand new from my Honda dealer. Sold the accord and make 800 off of them by selling it.
I almost made the purchase on a 335 from Carvana then talked myself out of it just like the Tesla. My dad is buying his new truck on there and he wants to try out the vending machine. So he will fly down maybe and pick his truck up or just have them ship it.

if your dad is a badass mofo why don't you just buy his vehicles from him when he moves on for family pricing.

Spent Friday/Saturday getting the Scout back together, about 3 months after it got damaged.
New swingarm & rear tire installed.
Definitely more work than I was expecting it to be. All in, we probably put 6-7 hours of work into getting it pulled apart & reassembled.
Got it out with my father-in-law for an hour shakedown ride on Saturday afternoon. All good, apart from the new tire on the Scout being a bit on the underinflated side.
