Yep, they beefed up a few areas & did some needed refinements too. The interior is more nicely appointed, a bit more comfortable, some dry CF (my favorite additions ). Plus the transmission has been solidified, more airflow/efficiency for the turbos, & launch control actually works properly. For the exterior, the fascia has been widened a bit on both ends, looks more aggressive. DRL fog lights, dry carbon diffuser in the rear, etc. I definitely wanted a 2012+ when I was searching. Not that the 09-11 are bad by any means, but I just liked the improvements they made. 530hp instead of 485 is also not a bad bump

Are you still pushing that sweet NSX man??

Yeah definitely a 2012+ model would be in my radar if I were to be fortunate enough to come into the market for one in the future. All the updates and the trans issue fix is big plus.

Since this is a attainable dream car for many and since most of us will still be on a budget and not uber rich....what were the ranges in terms of insruance? NO need to give your own number of course but that is something that i think would be itneresting to know since it obviously will be more than a Civic....but how much should someone budget out for insurance for a GT-R like this? Maybe something like ~ $1000-1500/6mo?

The 2012 is the year to get. Major enhancements to transmission reliability and the power bump. But the best addition for 2012 was a revised "Comfort" mode for street use on the adjustable suspension. I have a lot of friends with GTRs and the 09 vs 12 are worlds apart. This is also reflected on the used car market.

Silver is the best color for the GTR IMO. Congratulations all around!

That's definitely a consideration, my friend. However, I am very fortunate with this insurance-wise. The company I use offers "storage coverage" for times of the year that I won't be driving it all that much (like right now). The beauty about this coverage is that when I do want to take it for a spin, all I have to do is email my agent & I'm good to go. The storage coverage comes out to about $10/month, which is sweet. Full coverage on the GTR plus my TL will be about in the middle of the range you described for a 6 month period. These numbers of course are all based on driving record, location, etc...so it's with a grain of salt of course. It's honestly pretty reasonable because the GTR classifies as a GT car due to the (technically) 4 seats. This helps it stay a bit lower on insurance I think. Plus, a TON of built in safety measures helps too.

And...the first breathing mod is DONE. My good buddy had a set of these laying around that he never used. Got them for the awesome price of gratis! I feel a bit more airflow and the intakes are a little more vocal now. Mid-pipe will come soon...

I also went to a secret photoshoot on Saturday night, pro level pics will be posted as soon as they're edited and sent to me. That's all for right now guys. I'll be attending our really sweet monthly Cars & Coffee this coming Saturday and there promises to be some killer rides out there. Last month we had about 175 cars, give or take. I'll add some pics of the meet here...

Nice! The GT-R looks so nice already, not much can be done to improve...the tint really gives it a nice finished/sleek look.

Hey just realized you're in Denver. My GF is there and I visit about once 1x/2x a month (up in Aurora). When/where are usually C&C over in Denver?? I'll miss this weekend (dang it!) since I'll be in Neb but will be there next weekend. Would love to go if my better half would tag along

Thanks for the props man! And you're right, this car is damn near perfect in stock form. Just a couple minor upgrades (most already done) and I'll call it a day. Like I've said previously, this thing turns a ton of heads everywhere (especially now with the tint) and it's ridiculously fast as it sits now.

We actually have weekly Cars & Coffee gatherings, just in slightly different spots. They're all on Saturday morning, starting about 9am or so. On the 1st, 3rd and 4th Saturdays, we're at the Sears Outlet store in Lone Tree, right across from Park Meadows mall (Yosemite & C-470)...those usually get going around 9:30-10. It's "bring your own coffee" but there's a Starbucks right around the corner. The second Saturday is always our big one at the Vehicle Vault down in Parker. It's my friend's auto museum...lots of killer stuff in there from all generations! We always have 170-190 or so cars when it's nice. Saturday is supposed to be mid 60s and mostly clear, so I expect the turnout to be ridiculous. Last month we had an Aventador SV, new Aston Vanquish, McLaren 650S, probably 6 GTRs and a handful of sick muscle cars just to name a few...

Hope you can make it out sometime man!

Sooo...have you ordered your ADV.1's yet?

Fkng GORGEOUS ride, man...I keep telling myself it's just average looking and who cares but I only do that so I don't want it so badly. What a beast of a car.

Nice! Thanks for the insider info. I'll definitely try to make it out there in the next month or two when I visit next.

Being that Denver is a pretty nice town (and lots of big/new money) I'm sure there will be plenty of drool-worth cars out there

Update...moar pics!

What up everybody! Figured it was a good time to post up a little update during our over 2 feet (yes...feet, in mid April ) of snow here in the Denver area. Obviously, Godzilla is hibernating and will likely be doing so for the next several days. However, I ordered up a couple goodies for her yesterday

-BoostLogic non-resonated mid-pipe
-Rexpeed satin finish carbon fiber side mirror accents

Got Michelin Pilot SS on all four corners a couple weeks ago as well. The rear tires were SHOT from the previous owner, so it was time. They're a lot better than the damn Dunlop run-flats that come stock. Hella grip & a lot more comfortable.

Also have talked to my buddy who does detailing & clear bra. Taking her in week after next for a full polish, Crystal Serum Light coating & nano skin clear bra over much of the car. Not gonna be cheap, but well worth it! Here are a few pics from that photo shoot a few weeks back, enjoy!
