Don't drink and drive folks! (Idiot in Chevy Avalanche meets TL)
This happened a few miles from my work... Poor woman in the TL lost her child I hope the driver of the Avalanche rots in prison.

Driver of Avalanche crossed the center yellow line, hit a prius then smacked the TL, shearing off the front wheel of the Avalanche in the process. Nobody was hurt in the Avalanche or the Prius. The passengers from the Avalanche were standing around when the Police arrived, and they all initially refused to talk to the police or tell them who was driving.
The woman in the TL had 2 children, a 10 year old and a 15 year old. The 15 year old was ok, only had cuts and bruises.. Mother is still in the hospital in critical condition... The 10 year old passed on to the next life...
Police eventually determined who was driving the Avalanche, and arrested her for Vehicular Manslaughter. DUII charges are pending, last I heard.

Unbelievable. There really are no limits to how stupid people can be. This was completely preventable.

RIP, poor boy had whole life in front of him taken away
More details, let's hope she gets some serious jail time (thinking 10-20 years).

There was a sentencing just last week in Montgomery County Maryland for a 20 year old drive DUI who left the scene of a single vehicle accidnet that killed 3 of his friends. One was alive when he ran off, another person survived. The driver got 20 years, very emotional trial since all five in the car were friends.

If you ask me, the US has terribly lenient traffic laws, one DUI should be enough to have your license taken away, because drinking and driving is akin to attempted murder as far as i'm concerned, and if you don't have the common sense to not drink and drive well then you don't deserve to be on the fucking roads anyway
also, fuck you if you disagree

It reminds me of just last weekend. I had a single beer, wouldn't drive. I got a lot of grief but even if you aren't drunk and it's not your fault, what if you could have avoided a bad situation had your reflexes been just a millisecond quicker.
When I was young, I learned quickly what just a single beer did to me. Being used to driving the GN sideways I learned quickly that reflexes and judgement significantly slow down with just a little alcohol. It's something I probably would not have noticed in the TL but I'm glad I realized it by the time I was old enough to drink.

If only someone could have been a responsible friend and knocked that driver out....

Advanced
but really is a 20 yr sentence enough, for the loss of just one life??? Until They (court systems) start enforcing full life sentences for vehicular manslaughter charges under the influence, these Jersey shore douchebag wanna be's will always think its cool. And as long as TV promotes it with "reality shows" promoting "cool" people or "gangsters" or anybody for that fact, Partying and drinking it up then driving, the trash that desire to be cool will imitate...

Evil Mazda Driver
This stretch of road is dangerous enough in good weather and NOBODY obeys the speed limit of 40...speeds are usually 50 to 60 up that hill. Throw in fog and a drunk driver and that poor kid didn't stand a chance.
The drunk is facing manslaughter charges but Oregon is so lax on DUIs that I wouldn't be surprised if she sees little to no jail time.
