Does it irritate you when you see kids driving better cars than you?

i have to admit, i have a nice car, and the fact that im working to pay for it and its in my name makes me feel better about myself. but damn it really pisses me off when you see punk ass kids driving cars that you know they cant afford.

take yesterday for example: me and the gf were at the mall yesterday, and i saw an Audi S5. guess who was driving it? some high school kid. it even had the damn parking tag on it "student clovis west high school" wtf?

today here at school as i wait in my car for class to start, i see some thug guy in a 3rd gen aspec TL, a G8 GXP, EVO MR, and a brand new lifted Chevy D-Max.

thats my rant for the day

kthxbye

Doesn't bother me at all. Some people got it like that and others have to work for it, it's the nature of the beast.

Go out and buy a better car! Thatll show them!

Who cares what they drive. You actually have it better, since you can value a dollar. If they are in fact representatives of the stereotypical crowd, they will most probably crash and burn in life when they are released from the reigns of their parents affluence.

Just realize, there are kids that are out there whose parents buy them nice things, but in fact, are NOT punk ass kids. They can be respectful, decent, modest and hard working.

it used to bother me when i was like 17 and kids at my high school had s4's and m3's and i was pushing a 2000 maxima ... but that was just me being immature and jealous. some parents work hard to provide their kids luxuries. others cant afford it, and others have the means to provide a luxurious life for their children, but like to push their kids to go and earn things on their own... my father paid for half of my car, that is more than fair.

i learned to work and save money. i ended up with my 02 tl type s a year later, and then now i just leased an 09 altima sl with my own money. lesson learned.

some parents have the means to set their kids up for life and they never have to worry about this sort of responsibility. sure they will always be "owned" by their parents, but if its all they know what do they care?

so in short, nah it doesnt bother me anymore. independence is a nice thing.

Especially since I live in West LA-- I bet that 50% of the high school kids in Brentwood, Beverly Hills, etc. have more expensive cars than I do.
A bunch of show biz industry types are younger than me and probably have nicer cars, too.
Paris Hilton probably pays more than the price of my car just for bodywork on her Bentleys each year .

C'est la vie.

But, I won't lie when I see some kid driving around in a Ferrari/Porsche that it does bother me a bit...Cuz, I want to drive that car, dammit!

I see a Chinese kid who lives near me going around town often in a Lamborghini Gallardo.

No. I've worked hard for what I have, and if the kids want something nice, let them. They'll learn the hard way that if something happens, mommy and daddy won't always be there to bail them out. They'll turn to drugs and sex, and you'll pass them in a nicer car than they used to have because they had to sell it to get drugs and crack!

If it pisses you off when you see punk ass kids driving cars you think they can't afford, does it make you feel better when you see adults driving cars not as nice as yours?

Grow up...some have it better than you, some have it worse. That's life.

Nope, absolutely not. What bothers me is if they present themselves with a particular attitude while driving a nice car.

On a side note, I don't believe all kids who have been given a nice car are arrogant or undeserving. As long as they are respectful and realize the efforts their parent's made to provide them with such luxuries, I don't see it as a problem.

i know it shouldnt bug me, but the kids around here act all cocky like their shit doesnt stink that does

theres a kid with an ISF, stuck up as hell.

an Armeian kid in high school that my buddy on here knows has an 07 Viper that says Hyevipr on the plate

my buddy works at savemart in the nice part of fresno and he says this kid comes in all the time with two different Lambos. he always tells my buddy that he wants to race, and my buddy has a 01 Camry with 215k

thats why it bugs me..sure the people at school i dont know about, but its the people i hear about and how they act that pisses me off. its them being cocky and arrogant that gets to me.

There are arrogant and cocky people in the world. All you can do about it is (a) get over it and (b) not become one.

I thought about that too, but it always has a social element, so it also seems to work here as well.

Although. It irritates me when I see high school kids in nice cars driving like idiots. I don't know how many 16 year olds I've seen with Evo's recently that have launched themselves at green lights on the street as if they were on a drag strip.

That's just kids being kids. When I was a kid I drove a '78 Chevy Monza (my parents' car) with 80hp and I launched it as hard as I could too.

How do you "know?" Maybe they hit the lottery. Maybe Grandma gave them 100 shares in Dell or AOL or Yahoo 20 years ago. Maybe mommy and daddy rake in the loot and made a deal with junior: "4.0 GPA and we'll buy you a nice car."

Even better than what you "know" they can or can't afford, WTF do you care? It's not your business and maybe some 40-something driving an 1992 Chevy Cavaleir is looking over at you thinking the same thing?

What bugs me is youngsters being assholes driving a nice car.

As far as that goes, assholes driving cars bugs me. Age and car type are not a prerequisite.

Ride a sports bike. That's an affordable "super-car."

The other day on a empty stretch of road I was hanging with a C6 and Porsche 911.

I dont feel like i deserve the cl. I got it since my greatgranddad left me money and I had sold my old car ( a pos a4 i got for 4k, it barely ran, though i loved it). I know some kids dont deserve some of the cars but no use in getting all hopped up. Hell my old roommate had an nsx he picked up himself. most people are going to write him off as a mommas boy but, it was his. and did i love that car

I won't lie. But, I do get irritated if someone has a bigger mecha collection than I...

But, really...the irritation factor should be the bozo kid who has a bad attitude. What he drives, meh. Then again, I've seen idiots who think they own the world driving down the road in a riced up Civic by cutting in and out of traffic...So, really...not the ride. More the driver.
