Based on the Texas Mile results of this past October, it looked like there was more they could get out of the Viper; so now they got almost another 9mph out of it. This was the results from the Texas Mile:

1. Tommy Banh Toyota Supra - 228.7 mph
2. SVS TT Viper - 223 mph
3. Ray Hoffman Heffner TT Ford GT - 222.2 mph
4. Eddie Bello 993 Porsche - 219 mph
5. Gary Javo Heffner TT GTS Viper - 212 mph
6. Kelly Martin Heffner TT SRT-10 Viper - 205 mph

the Viper is def a purpose-built drag car - did you see the body on it? It's not something you would daily-drive - the Supra, you could daily-drive it! supra, ftw.

I'm not sure Tommy Bahn was adjusting something or releasing his chute. For some reason ...and I could be totally imagining this... I sort of recall him saying something about turning up the stereo on his favorite song as he went over 200mph

As far as street car vs a parachute ...in these mile runs, both Texas and Maxton Mile as well as Bonneville, anything over a certain top speed and you have to have a chute assist to stop or they won't let you run and/or record your results as official.

Btw, the SVS car is in Unlimited Race Car class whereas Tommy Banh's Supra is in Unlimited Street Car class.

But giving credit where credit is due, there is a LOT left in that Viper. If it hasn't already done so, I bet it will be over 250 pretty soon.

it better have more in it seeing how the "street" supra was only 3 mph behind it!!

nothing beats a supra!!!
