G37 Vert -- Thoughts?
Unfortunately, I had to help a coworker out of his wrecked car on the way to work last month. We both drive ISs....Anyway, the car was declared totaled, and his rental car ran out. so hes giving himself this week to pull the trigger on a slightly used car.
he is looking into hardtop verts. He does not want a german, or a soft top (for theft reasons)... so he limited it down to either a G37 vert of IS vert. both are like a $10k premium for the vert, and IMO, its a ripoff (used and new).
think he found a 2009 g37 vert haggled down to $40k (car has 7k mi). sticker is $52,xxx. Ill be driving him to work until he pulls the trigger on something, so im kind of yessing him to death
Any of you guys own them, or know someone that does? are used IPL even on the market yet?
Thanks!

If it's that choice, I would go with the G37. They are both pigs but the '37 has more HP I believe. Plus it's a better looking car IMO.
That said they're heavy and expensive.
If homeboy is that worried about a cloth top being cut, maybe he should use that money to move somewhere else?

...and homeboy lives in la-la land at the viceroy hotel. IDK what his concern is, unless the valets are breaking into cars....and another reason why im trying to help him out for additional pool access

I have a G37 vert. I love it in terms of sportiness and coolnesss, people here in the city definitely love it, always gives me the thumbs up whenever I have my top down. Regardless of almost extra 400 lbs, it handles almost as well as the coupe. Honestly, I like whole a lot better than my Acura.
Yes, the car is good, almost perfect, but Infiniti service is subpar, not nearly the league of Acura. Head over to myg37.com, go into the vert section, and search for "top rattle", you will see what I mean. My top was rattling and squeaking like crazy, and I had dealers (I tried 3 of them) from refusing to fix it, will not repair it under warranty (I have to pay for it), to simply don't know how to fix it. Eventually after much complaints to the Infiniti consumer affairs, they finally told me to go to a dealer which is two hours away to fix it.
Bottom line, exellent car, best bang for the buck. But unless you have a trustworthy dealership , be ready to get a headache when the top starts rattling.

Though they look nice, I never was really a big fan of verts, not because of the way they look; but because I know if I got a vert I would never put the damn top down.
But if I had to choose, the g37 vert would be my choice, better looking than the SC in my opinion. Plus I'm a little partial to Infiniti's...

I test drove IS 350C, no doubt most impeccable and soothing interior (way better than G37's and 335's), and its roof operation is the quickest and smoothest also; but handling way too soft for me, and it is butt ugly (puns intended). Maybe the F-Sport can help? BTW, ISC 350 sound system wasn't greatest either.

You mean IS 250C F-Sport right? Or the sedan?

final reasoning:
g37 vert was too small of an interior, so he looked at an IS vert, and still too small, then a IS 250 F Sport sedan (which wasnt enough power, since he wrecked his IS350).
i think, all in all, the price he paid for his (now wrecked) 2007 IS 350 w/ navi was $40k new in 2007. today, $40k would barely get you an 2012 IS 250 F Sport w/ nav. in summary, his IS350 in 2007 is essentially the same in 2012, but costs close to $10k more. he was so angered by inflation, lexus, and the small G37, that he said...
...fuck luxury japanese brands...im going to settle for THE BEAK and get the best bang for my buck. (he hates the exterior of the TL, BTW)

Wait... So he said "fuck japanese luxury brands" and got an Acura?
If that was the case, why not go with a 3 series? I'm head over heals for my M3 but unfortunately i left that back in Florida so the opportunities i have to drive it are few and far between.
