Grest photos. I think the car was just called the Datsun 2000. There was also a 1600.

From the owner of the car:

The name 'Fairlady' was thought up by Katsuji Kawamata (Nissan's president) after he saw the Broadway play "My Fair Lady" while in the USA in 1959 inspecting local dealerships. Apparently he was so impressed with it he named the S211's replacement after the play. From 1965 onwards most export Fairladies were given a number instead of it's real name because they felt the US market would feel the name would be to feminine. Eg. 1500, 1600, 2000, Sports, 240Z, 280ZX, etc. Today even the 2010 Nissan 350Z is still called Fairlady in Japan. Thus making the Datsun Roadster the predecessor to the Z.

Thanks, more info than I had. I did remember that the 'Z' was called Fairlady in other countries.

Wow, I never even knew that car existed before. Very cool little Datson! It kinda reminds me of a Honda S200. Nice photography as well.
