I've been online for almost 25 years now; it has made me a more direct and well, abrasive person at times, for which I again apologize for coming off like a troll and evoking a slew of sexual innuendo.

Ken was kind enough to give me the additional details on where he was at working with Ktuner before he sold it and I feel confident now about the vehicle's condition and how its been modded.

Dwayne, taco is just saying we're going to have fun with you now...you made a solid move with owning up to your mistake. You can stay...a long as you can take some ribbing.

Tein Flex Z's installed. 1.2" lower with damping set to firm. I added extra sound deadening in the rear while I was at it. This car is extremely quiet (as quiet as my 2017 Accord Touring), rides firm but smoothly on the highway.

Next up: J-Pipe from ATLP and getting KTuner to build a profile for it.
Eventually: EDFC's so I can remotely control damping from the dash and not have to remove the rear seats/pop the hood every time I want a more forgiving ride around town.

Classy! I think it'd surprise a lot of people with the sound, coming from an RL.

Hmm we'll see. I'm happy with these. The '11/'12 RL wheels have a special ring inside the wheel that absorbs certain frequencies and keeps the ride quiet. It definitely makes a difference.

Absorb certain frequencies?
WTF?
do they add weight? Are they in the wheels?
So many questions!

"To provide excellent handling and looks, new 18x8-inch diameter 15-spoke aluminum wheels are matched with performance-minded Michelin Pilot all-season tires. While the new wheels add a look of visual sophistication, they also deliver mechanical sophistication thanks to the first-ever use of resonator wheel technology. In an effort to quell road noise transmitted to the RL's cabin, the new noise reducing wheel uses a polypropylene Helmholtz resonator that encircles the center portion of the inside of the wheel. Such resonator wheel technology significantly lowers middle frequency noise (between 100 and 500 hertz). Combined with the added use of insulation material on the floorboard areas of the RL, there is a 1.3 dB reduction in interior noise— which translates to a 15-percent improvement."

I don't listen to too much bass or higher volume levels. AKA the RL's sound system is adequate

I remember my days as a young, handsome and spry 21 year old, with a 12” Alpine Type X sub in the back of my 1992 Civic Si hatchback.

I think the sub itself weighed like 40 pounds, without the box, due to the massive coil magnet on it. And you could hear it from two blocks away. I used to occasionally drive with ear plugs in and just feel the massage of the bass

These days, I find the stock stereo in my TL more than adequate.

Especially since 75% of what I listen to is talk radio

When age starts sneaking up on you...

I had an '88 Honda Accord with a whopping 98-ish (?) horsepower and a Namsung in-dash MP3/CD player I grabbed at a market in Seoul. This was maybe in 1999 or 2000 at the latest. I took advantage of Napster and IRC. People were astounded to see an in-dash headunit that could do all that. Of course it had a tacky sub in the trunk with mis-matched carpeting...

me too!

Pretty sure that car became a rattle can driving down the highway from all that bass. I remember taking each and every interior panel off and cramming foam behind them. Because dynamat was too expensive when I was a poor student

I had 2 10" Rockford Fosgate Punch subwoofers in a box behind the seat of my '76 Datsun pickup truck in high school. Those things were firing directly into my back!

2 - 10" no-name's in the trunk of my first Mercedes (had to remove the rear dash first aid kit to be able to hear them, fuel tank between seats/trunk) Not a rattle
2 - 10" Kickers in the trunk of my Saturn, enough to make the rear view mirror useless & provide back massage to back seat passengers

That's a sweet truck! I have a Hardbody pickup now.

I to run dual 10s behind the seat of my regular cab C1500 pickup for the massage effect.

Car stereo scene from the Cameron Crowe movie "Singles" (great movie).
That's Soundgarden's Chris Cornell on the right next to Matt Damon in the video.
