Talking Corolla Bumper/Spoiler Repair with Pics

Some basic bumper repair from last weekend, no need for any filler, just sand it down, primer. All primed areas get sealed, then the basecoat gets blended and then blender feather with DBC500 color blender.
Enjoy!

Great work, love your threads!

Nice neighborhood and house from what I can see. Always wondered what your neighbors thought of all the paint fumes coming out of your house

Is this something you do as a side job? Or is this your main gig? Hobby??

haha Thanks. Look hard and you will find someone that does just as good work, just check out the cars that are finished at the shop, should you ever need repairs done.

Growing up, I thought the same thing, and although it is not heavy collision, which I am not into, I still really enjoy the small jobs

Well, I just painted a bunch of church light poles and bezels for my neighbor, I did that inbetween this job. They are actually the yellow poles on the ground. He runs a lightning company and the customer picked the wrong color from the manufacture, so I was asked to paint them brown, which was fun. Anyway's I work clean and fast. I paint maybe every other weekend, depending and when the fumes come out, they leave rather quickly since a bumper isn't all that big. I make sure I clean up well and park my cars on the street. Often my neighbors will check out what I do, but I have known them all for 20 years, and they have watched me grow up. They often compliment me and really like my makeshift booth.

Anyway's I am a School teacher, which is what I went to college for, I teach PE. On the weekends this is something I enjoy. I also am big into dash interiors, if you google nexations creations, you will find many threads.

I have videos on youtube of how the paint booth comes apart and stores basically into a corner. It takes about 20 minutes to set up. Blending is just about flicking your wrist. In every paint system, they will make a color blender in which ou reduce your base and color blender 1:1. In the case of the corolla, since it was a metallic (IF7), it makes the metallics more tranpsarent, and makes the blend invisble. I can't even spot the blend. Of course, you have to have a blendable color.
