You can find them really cheap in the classifieds, I'd make sure to get a RV6 V2 J-Pipe or newer for under $300 .. better exhaust flow / little bit more gains.

Congratulations! Even though you'll miss the heated steering wheel, you will enjoy the turning radius in the TL. The I35 is a car with one of the worst turning radius's I've ever driven.

Not bad. The problem is that in PA you have to do a state inspection every year and from what I have heard the cops can be tough on people with tinted windows. I drive a lot so I will likely get stopped at some point.

God yes. The turning radius on the I35 was horrible.

The J-Pipe is the only one I would consider to be honest. I really like the tone of the car with the stock exhaust. I hated the AEM intakes on the CL. I don't want to do coilovers. Car is low enough for me.

The Good:

  • Gas mileage is awesome. I will probably save $150+ per month in gas and oil with the TL vs the I. I'm getting 27-28 mpg on my commute and today I got almost 31 on an all highway trip.
  • The suspension. Part of it is that the suspension on the I was almost toast, but I like the stiffer feel and the handling. Hell, the TL is about 8 inches shorter than the I35 but about 6 inches wider.
  • Appearance and sound. The car really looks good parked in my garage and in the parking lot at work. Plus, the tone of the engine and exhaust is awesome. Not sure the wife will like it as much.
The Bad:

  • Tires seem a bit noisy. They stick to the road, but they are louder than the Infiniti. I jacked it up and did the wiggle test to check the wheel bearing, it would not budge. I took it back to the dealer and they checked them as well. All good. There is a slight vibration in the tire at about 70 so I am going to have them balanced and have an alignment done to see if that helps. I'll also have the shop recheck the bearings.
  • I've read that it is normal and the other 4 TL's I test drove did the same thing but I am not a fan of the feeling when the car is slowing down. Engine braking, grade logic or whatever it is called. I think I will be using manual when I am coming to a stop.
That's about all I have so far. Brakes are all brand new so no brake vibration or noise.

Stereo all works. Sub-woofer is not too loud, but no big deal.

All the electrical works.

I guess the one last down side is I will have to wash my car more often now.

With an auto trans, on the freeway, and manuals do better @ 30 MPG+.

However, MPG in the TL drops like a rock when driving 20% or more in traffic or on streets w/ stop signs and lights. However, it's still thriftier than the VQ even then.

This is true. The I35 would give me 26-27 mpg all freeway and more like 24 with 20% traffic. So far I see at least a 10-15% bump with the TL.

Wow.

On yesterday's trip I drove up to Jessup PA so I was going up and down hills and I was driving between 70-80 mph. I calculated my MPG and got 30.79 for that trip.

Wow, that's really nice.

Hey, you know what would be even great for fuel economy? If you bought coilovers and went as low as possible and then maybe threw on some lightweight aftermarket wheels, Enkei RPF1's?

Just kidding. It would probably be worth your time to check out the hypermiling thread (God knows we're not short on that), and see what you can get.

Bumping up tire pressure on my car gained me a solid 50-75 kms per tank.

No to the mods. As for tire pressure....does it make the ride more rough?

Shouldn't make that big a deal as far as roughness is concerned. Of course that is dependant on what tires you have. You'll probably get extra MPGs though. I average 32 - 33 on the hwy.

I need to put a good coat of wax on it. That will get done some time this week. Maybe I will find a clean place for an Acurazine sticker. Who knows?

Good eye. I got them on Saturday. So far I really like them They are a lot quieter than the Hankooks that were on the car. 2 of the Hankooks had some bad thread wear on the inside due to the last owner not rotating them and the alignment was out. Acura paid 70% for the Conti's.

Wow 70%, nice deal! I love mine. By far the best tire I've had on the car. Yep really quiet, really good in the snow, and fantastic in the rain.

Update....

For you Off-Topic kids.

Only issue I have so far is with a slightly bent wheel. My service tech told me to get the dealership to replace it, but sales said NO. He told me to call Acura. I am waiting on the final word from them, but I foresee me spending some cash on a wheel in the next week or so.

The rest of it is in here...

As for tire pressure increase... I definetely noticed a harsher ride in the city, but it was still comfortable, and average MPG went from 20 to 24.

Mine is set at 33 and are N2 filled. I fluctuate between 32 and 35 depending on length of trip and outside temp. With air filled I would range from 32 to 38/39. I guess N2 does work better.

I got great life out of the last set of N2 tires I had. When I traded the I35 there was about 60% left on a set of tires that had 43K miles on it.
